How do you have it drilled?
How do you throw it now ?
What is the reaction you are getting?
could use a little more info before saying too much.
I've been bowling with a sling now for about 6 mo
Its my go to ball most of the time.

Don't worry about it. It was for my girlfriend who actually bought the ball. I bought a Columbia 300 Detour and since I have i haven't bowled under a 215 since. So don't worry thanks anyways yours truely The Showstopper

Just picked up a Slingblade.. Hadn't bowled in 30 years..
First game was pretty ugly and I was having trouble with my balance.
Figured things out by the 3rd game.. Shot 246 missing a single pin spare in the 10th.. Damn!! This ball is awesome.. Light hits, it carries. Little high in the pocket?, it carries... Decimates the deck and I don't throw all that hard.
Pretty straight shot with a little snap at the end.. Glad I did my homework and picked the slingblade out of the pack...

Would you say that The Real Deal carries more than the sling? Just curious. I just ordered myself The Real Deal two days ago, waiting on it to get here...

I'm curious... Does The Real Deal carry more often than the Sling Blade? I just ordered The Real Deal two days ago, and I am waiting on it to get here... Good Choice?

Hey Kurt,
From what I gather the RD has greater hooking potential. As far as carry goes, all the hammer lines pack quite a whallop. I'm just getting back into this after a quite lengthy hiatus, and don't feel qualified to really answer questions on ball reaction. All I can tell you is that the Slingblade suits my semi-straight game very well, and I have no regrets about purchasing it. A spare ball might be in order though.

Cheers..

Need more info.
What is the lane condition?
What is your average?
What is your ball speed?
Before you buy a ball, you need to read the drilling sheet.

 You must not be able to take one ball on any condition and hit the pocket. Stay with Hammer

I drilled The Real Deal For myself, with maxium flare. I have not found a house that has enough oil for this ball. You could polish it, but the saw blade will act close because I did it. A person needs to drill The Real Deal with medium flare for most condition. When you hit the pocket the pin explode. this is the most hook out of the box.

Sling Blade is one of the more all purpose balls of Hammer, in my opinion. The Coverstock provides length but since the ball doesn't really snap, it's easy to control for league bowlers.

The carry is awesome on all the Hammer balls... for the sling, I do suggest bowling with it a few games before taking it to competition, just to put a "track" on the ball. For me, it helped me have a more controlled reaction from the ball.

Good luck!!

Couldn't agree more... It's the perfect strike ball for a hack like me..
