9th frame meltdown

8 in a row and folded like a cheap suit.

My team mates were great throughout the game. Didn't metion the game I was having once. Changed the subject quite often and at one point in between the 6th and 7th frames I thought to my self if anybody even knew what was going on.

Two frames later in the 9th I have my chance to take a 300 into the 10th frame and missed my mark left.......way left and threw it jersey which actually had a chance but then opened that frame and closed out with a 264.

I've heard of people getting nervous in the 10th but not in the 9th. So upset I didn't have a shot in the 10th.........better off I probably would have thrown it in the gutter.......ohh well :o

we had a guy in my league wed night with the first 11 strikes then promptly tossed the next ball in the channel for a 290, he was so nervous:eek: had to feel sorry for the guy, he's a 175 ave bowler and a great guy too.

It's so dificult to just try and stay relaxed when the frames start winding up like that. I've thrown 16 in a row before but never 12 in the same game. I call it my Eleanor<sp?>. It seems like the more times I get there the easier it gets though.

Still a great game.. You will get there just don't think about it so much.

I remember my first REAL shot at my first 300. I went 9 in a row then threw the first ball in the 10th got the strike then threw the second ball and hit the pocked solid and left a ringing 10 pin Made the spare but just could not believe I left the 10 off the hit to the pocket. Everyone else thought it should have been a strike also.. O well...
BTW that was with my Hammer Offset 3d Super Hook Gosh I loved that ball.

It just does not react now the way it used to so it's reitred..

I've blown so many 300 opportunities in the 9th frame it sickens me.. Usually a 10 pin too...

even tho i havnt shot the front 8...maybe i did...wait i did.
i threw a nice shot..left a 9 pin :eek: but i picked it up

just try and use this method to not let it git to ur head
after ur 1st strike u didnt say "wow...i might shoot 300..oh man!"

so dont do it after the 8th strike

The best thing I can tell you is to get in the habit of doing the same pre-shot routine everytime. It will eventually coincide with your shot and delivery rythm. I have a teammate now that says watching me is like watching a machine, same thing every time. It will eventually come.

first time i went front 8 i pulled it left and went 3-10. then i proceeded to go front 8 for like 6 times and never struck again lol. went ten pin every time. so dont worry it will come, i finally went front eleven, but then went 8 pin so idk if i will get a 300 lol.

I was hung up on the front 8 for a LONG time (got it first time in high school in '01 or '02, finally got past the 8th last year in '08). You'll get there, just don't worry about it and let the pins fall. It'll come when you least expect it.

I had the First seven last night threw the ball ringing 10 pin threw the spare and found out I was on the wrong lane, woah I get another shot to carry on threw another good shot 7 pin and only finished the game with 23x game Shoud of had a mid to high 7 only had a high 6 thats my melt down.

my first time ever starting a game with 11 in a row was just ten days after shooting a 290 with a 9spare in the first in 1993. ended that first 11 in a row to start game with a 298 leaving the 6-10. shot my first 300 on Sept 28, 2007 and my second on Feb. 9, 2009.

I think the main reason wh you hear about people doing it in the10th Is because it is the most common time to miss it,
however if this is the first time you have thrown the first 8, then walking up on the 9th was a new thing.
Next time you do it (and you will throw the first 8 again) you will go into the 9th with a bit more experiance of what it is like, the more you do it the more normal it will feel
