I am having a tough time trying to keep my thumb straight in my new sauce ball. its easier with my bws but it has a thumb slug. should I put 1 in my sauce and/or any other ideas on how to help keep my thumb straight and not bend the top joint to help grip the ball?

having a slug in all your balls will help keep a consistent feel from ball to ball.
also, if you're bending your thumb in the hole it could be to big which would easily be corrected with a slug or tape.

Make the thumb hole tighter

You should have the same feel of every ball you have. There are times where they will feel diferent due to swelling and shrinking of you fingers . I would suggest to put a thumb slug in the Sauce to keep everything feeling the same.

You should never have to 'grip' a ball to stop it falling off.

I can hold my ball hanging with just my thumb in it relaxed. If you are having to bend your thumb to hold onto it the hole is too big.

Have you got a standard round hole or have you got a oval shape one?

How about you get the span remeasured BEFORE you slam a slug in the ball? Your hand should be totally relaxed when swinging the ball.

I'll second that. Also make sure your thumb isnt drilled to big. Most want too much room in the thumb causing them to squeeze or add a ton of tape

Congratulations! Last year I was a bit afraid to use tape, however, now I always check my thumb holes prior to bowling, and generally will add a couple pieces of tape to each ball. I'm sure the tape (in addition to practice), is why my average is ten pins up from last year.

The ball MUST fit right in order to roll consistent shots.
