Ok so those of you who have been around since the summer know I've been working on a new swing. Well I finally have some video from after league. Problem is my swing isn't even close to free or as free. Well it's more free than before and I'm more comfortable with it. Granted I've recently altered it after reading the Joe's latest article on the hinge swing. Anyway please take a look and any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Looks smoother, higher backswing.

However it looks like you may be swing swing the ball behind you back a bit.

Like your old finish at the foul line, it looked lower.

On your swing tilt palm to the left, so that before you push off your hand is on the outside of the ball or bring ball in so that it aligns with your shoulder.

(Like the tune, who is it.)

The thing I notice the most is that your approach looks much more controlled.

Hey guys, thanks for the coments. Ten Pin you are bang on with the behind the back. When I get tired it starts to creep. I honestly think my swing was more free two weeks ago. After I read the hinge swing article I'm trying to hinge sooner which isn't giving the ball as much momentum. But that being said since the slight adjustment I've been bowing really well. Won teams and came in third in doubles in all events tournament and have put up a a few big numbers 290, 270, and a 268.

The song is Laces Out by USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker), it's off the Laces Out single and it's available on iTunes.

Dont worry about the swing comming around your back unless your trying to play square. IIf your going to open up and play left, it must come around you in order to create angle in the front of the lane

Thanks blue, the biggest improvement for me is that I'm not cupping my wrist so much. Before I needed the wrister and my wrists would get soar, but now I don't feel it after bowling at all.

Actually looks really good Greg, the only thing I see like stated before is the arm coming a little ways behind your back, but you explained that already. Looks like the work is paying off.:)

Thanks Idle, many times when I do have a bad shot, my teammate mentions the ball was behind my back. Trying to keep the shoulders more square does help with accuracy. But Blue makes a good point when the lanes open up, I can relax my shoulders more and swing it out with good results.

What do you want to accomplish?

The only thing I would attempt to change is your armswing from the point of release and after. The swing arc tends to come up rather abruptly instead of following that natural arcing motion like the backswing. I do the same thing. And what happens is the elbow will sometimes fly out and cause you to come around the ball or pull it.

Either way, its not bad. It looks very good and solid. And dont worry about coming behind you. Thats how you will be able to get to the inside of the ball.

Thanks Blue. I guess I'm trying to free up my swing, make it easy to reproduce, but still get some revs on the ball...

So we shot another one this week.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJHRJ_2gWNs

It was after league (4 games on a modified house shot), so the first part is using my Up-Rising on fairly tracked lanes. Then a guy who works there put down a fresh shot for us. He used the hardest one in the machine which is the house's hardest shot. I had already bowled about 7 games but you don't often get a chance to roll in the heavy stuff so I ended up throwing 3 more games. First game was a mess (just practicing trying to find a line), but then things got comfortable...

Again any feed back or comments are appreciated. I've been starting to have some problems with my rotator cuff so I might need to change my swing again...
