Next month Im heading to the SC state tournament. For the team event Ill be bowling last. (Im ok under pressure) But what I need help with is that we will be rolling on synthetic lanes with a heavy house shot, so Im thinking I need to sand my No Mercy and Raw Anger down to cut though the oil. Am I right in thinking this? They are both OOB and the rest of my gear is pearl.
For reference:

My gear (excluding my psycho): http://s64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/dragom_mage/
Also any tips for bowling on synthetics will be helpful.
thanks to everyone for your time.

Neo, by looking at your equipment I would keep the Anger at it's current finish. It appears to be OOB finish , if so keep it there. The BW looks like ity needs to be resurface and brought back to OOb finsih. I would do this and keep it at OOB for a heavier house pattern. The rest I would leave alon and when you arrive look at the lanes and see where the majority of people are playing and adjust your usage and line from there.
For SYNTHETICS, consider playing an outside line . Lane play depends on the oil pattern the center uses. You can use equipment with surfaces that are either polished or dull. You can attack synthetics effectively with most types of speeds and ball rolls.
Sometimes you'll see a "wear line" based on the lane lighting/shine. Get down to knee height at the ball return to see if you can identify the well-played area, and try to get just left of it.

Well, synthetics are much easier to bowlers than wood are depending how you bowl. I also know that synthetics will have less change in your line from ball to ball than wood. I have bowled on wood once, but the one time I did, I noticed you have to make a lot of adjustments. Synthetics are pretty simple with house patterns, Even a heavy house pattern is a very high scoring thing. just find your line and pound it.

Synthetics will hold the oil a lot better than wood and will not dry up as fast, but they are also more suceptable (sp?) to carrydown, you will see more carrydown and more long oil on Synthetics than wood.

.
Move right and you wont have to cut through the oil. Take some abralon with you and alter the surface IF needed after you know what your dealing with

So you know, that very dry bumper you have in your video at your home house will definately not be there, those shots you got out towards the gutter quick will definately be a gutter ball. So move your breakpoint in more away from the gutter or move your feet right, but still would stay away from the gutter, it will skid a ton farther than those lanes and wont be as much friction.

Yeah I know that. The last time I bowled on synthetic lanes I used my Psyhco and rolled it up the second arrow. So I will try that line first.
