Maybe there is not right or wrong but I assume that if you play a inside to out line with a arcing backend you should square to the intended mark where you are throwing ball to/at, and not to even try to keep square to the foul line, correct?

My best line is slide foot on 23-25 board, but my target is about 13th board give or take skidding out to about 9-8 board. So at setup I feel square to where I want the ball hit first. Is this correct? or is the any true correct?

you are correct arkansasbowman, you want your shoulders sqaure to your target line if you are going to swing the ball out. if you were to try to keep your shoulders square to the foul line, you'd either pull every shot or not get it out as far as you want to. as long as you keep your steps in as straight a line as possible you'll be okay, you don't want to drift to much either direction. my most comfortable line is standing around 20 aiming/looking at the 9 board at the arrows with a little belly and then crossing the down lane marker at 45 ft around the 9th board also. i keep my shoulders open and pointing in the direction of my target.

thank you, really helps when you have a place you can ask question's, and from what I have seen so far get real life educated answer's. Sure helps us less forunate persons :D

I have lived in a small rural area now for 17 years, it's great don't get me wrong but being from So. Cal I am so use to being able go get lessons in what ever it might be, or just get whatever you need period and choose from 15 places to get it from  We have 2 houses here no TRUE pro's to get lessons or help from, drilling is pretty decent I just don't think we get optimum drilling expierence, holes fit, but not always sure I am getting the right layout.

thanks again

Lonewolf is correct in what he stated. One thing I might want to add to this is we have to remember that there is more that goes into accuracy besides hitting a target. There are many ways to simply hit a target. You can hit it going straight, left to right, right to left, with variations of angle within those. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to a few other points on the lane. In order to make a path for a ball to travel, you need to have at least two points of reference: a starting point and a finishing point. Generally, bowlers pick from a combination of these four parts of the lane: the foul line, the dots, the arrows, and the break point. Keep your arm and shoulders pointed towards your target and you will have no problem at all.

another thing you might wanna try is seek out some of the higher average bowlers in your area and watch them and talk to them. they could prove a great resource for information.

today I practiced as advised with using not only my target but reference point and target, as said it is an angle if throwing in to out and back in again. So I concentrated and lined up on the 25th board, saw my mark, but reference dots at the foul line to see the line my arm should be throwing out and over. Worked very well. I think the extra reference point will be key for me to practice over the next weeks to see/feel where my arr/body should be headed.

Another key for me is feeling of my two fingers staying under and in the ball long, I can get sloppy and I know I am coming out to early at times. Huge difference when I feel the correct position at the bottom. Ball rotation/reaction greatly different if done wrong or right.

what about your approach.??do you want to line up on the same board that you slide( provided you walk straight) or should you line up to the left so that you are also walking in line and toward your intended path ??
