I had one of my Youth bowlers shoot 300 on Sunday. It;s a great feeling when one of your students has success.

tell your bowler congrats on the 300. it is a great feeling when you see one of your students do well. keep up the good work!

I've had that thrill of seeing 1 of those i coached bowl 300 or win the local tournaments. Congrats..

Just an update, My 300 bowler has been accepted to Webber University and is going to be receiving a Bowling Scholarship at the school.

Webber is a good school with a very solid bowling program. Everytime we bowled them at the collegiate tournaments, they always put up a good fight. Very competitive.

What does your student average? That could give a good idea on which team he/she will make.

not to offset the topic here, but how exactly would someone new to the sport go about finding a good coach in my area of La Place LA?

I think that is phenominal that one of your pubils made the 300 game. That is awesome and is a goal of mine as well as everyone elses :)

He finished the season at 205. When I took him down the school to meet Joe Slowinski, Del Warren etal, they invited him to bowl with them on their league night. He averaged right at about 200 on Highway to Hell

Not bad. If he has a good showing during the qualifying, he just may make the 1st team. I'll even go all out and say he'll make it, and be either lead-off or #2 bowler. But let him know not to get upset or down on himself if he gets the 2nd team, or better, the women bowl better than him. Collegiates is highly competitive, and I don't think I'd be the bowler I am if I hadn't gone through it.
