Confusing ad in April's BJI Magazine...

just got my April issue of Bowler's Journal International. Hammer has a full page ad on page 3 for a new bowling ball. only problem i see is that it's for the Black Widow Venom, with a release date of July 15th. July 15th was when the BWV was released last year. Just wondering what gives??? Why would Hammer place an ad for this ball now when it's already been released now for almost a year. Sending an email to Jeff Ussery inquiring about the ad.

That is very weird and doesnt make much sense at all, are you sure they didnt send last May's BJI on accident instead of this years?

it's the April 2009 issue, volume 96, number 4.

not sure what's going on. it is the same exact ad from last year. at first i just thought they changed the coverstock on the Venom but i checked and it's the same. sent Jeff an email and hope to hear back from him soon.

very confusing, but hope to get it cleared up soon.

To let everyone know Jeff mentioned to me that last years BW Venom add was used on purpose to keep Hammers spot in the magazine . That is all I can say on the subjet so let's not blow this out of proportion from here on out on reasons why they did this.

Maybe it will boost sales. Don't think they have to advertise a new ball all the time or the newest it ball all of the time.

are they going to be wrapping a gas mask with an anger type cover???? i would be all over that ball... i need something that hooks rather early and has an extremely heavy roll... i even thought about getting a Hyroad or Maxx zone... just to have that quick roll...

I am excited about the new releases this year. I am eager to throw them . But I have to wait like evreyone else. It will be worth it. Just be patient .

Ball of the year candidate with the Virtual Gravity.

The Hyroad is a ball motion all to its own, it doesnt over react off dry and is just super smooth, strong rolling ball. I will have one sooner or later and kinda kicking myself for picking the 2nd Dimension over it to begin with.

Widow Line: Solid
Raw Line: Pearl
Vibe Line: Who knows.... Purple-Pearl, Blue-Solid, Cherry and Emerald-Pearls. So I guess Dull Solid.
Razyr Line: The new Colored One
Maybe a new Spare Ball. My 2003 White Dot my get retired.

Honestly, I waiting to see what is released in the Raw Line next. Not sure I need anything else crazy strong like another Sauce. So I'd probably be interested in something in that line as well.

Good call Tenpin, I am speculating close to the same thing, Im definately thinking a release of a normal plastic spare ball will be one of them.

Idle you will not be dissapointed if you do pick up a hyroad. I havent thrown my VG since i got my hyroad the ball is just super sick. Mine is drilled almost "straight up" because its already so strong, so i wasnt figuring the ball was gonna hook a lot and boy was i wrong. The only problem im having is im leaving more 8 and 9 pins now than 10 pins cuz the ball drives so hard
