Is it true that there's now a black and red one? If so is it any different internally or performance wise or is it just a facelift?
Edit: Hammer is extremely pleased to announce the extension of our very successful Razyr performance line – the Razyr Black/Red!
Razyr Black/Red is a new color with a familiar design. With our proven Recoil Reactive coverstock, we’re retaining good performance ball motion. We’re also continuing the use of our high-density 3-piece construction in the Hammer Razyr. Our new color simply offers a more aggressive, MASCULINE look in our already proven Razyr line.
Nothing currently on the Hammer site however.

Sounds like some insecure males were tripping over the purple

I agree with you there Pliko, some male egos must have been tread upon by the purple color. If there is a new Razyr I can't wait to see it though.

100% agree. I use a pink/red/blue tornado and get cracked on ALL the time, until I shut them up and shoot 700 with it or my best series to date 837.

I dunno about purple being a dodgy colour. I have a 3d Offset Violet Pearl and an Ogre Pearl and they both look great. Would have bought a Violet Gargoyle if one had come my way as well.

Mongo, I see Animal posted this on TotalBowling. But You guy's get the word 24 hrs. earlier than we do here in the States due to the Time Difference. What confuses me is he mentions this in the Distributorship section but not on his Animal's Pro Shop Section.

That is if thios is even true. Animal stated this in a post but usually when Hammer announces a new release, there are ads or shelf talkers sent to the suppliers in other countries first being the time difference.
If I do not see an ad about this on a Uk or Aussie forum or from pro shops or suppliers in 3 days I have no choice to chalk this up to hear say for the time being and remove the thread till something deffinate is published by Hammer.

Why any bowler would gimp their game because of ball color is beyond me.

Its actually a pretty big factor for me, if I dont like the way it looks I know I wont throw it right because I wont like how it looks. I also like colors so I can see my rotation going down the lane to know Im throwing the ball right. Plus I buy enough balls where at this point sometimes I just buy them cause they look cool.:p Can basically throw any ball and make it work(except the anger..) so the way it looks becomes part of the equation.

same here , when I was using a pink house ball , everyone one was giving me the look, + the back curve release and it was, ahem ahem, you know real men don't use ladies curve, and that color. don't you have another ball.
my answer: real men don't use wrist support neither, and about the color; find me another ball with my fit or buy me a ball and we can talk.
i still want a black and white bowling ball.

The time difference indeed plays an important part here. Previously Hammer have released balls officially in the UK before the US and we in Aus were left until last. I must admit I moaned about it myself however we now have a situation that indicates Hammer are doing it by the international time zones - again something that prob won't work.
Personally I think all new releases should be at 9.00am EST in the US as that's where the market really is and the rest of the world can fit in with that. It'd make far more sense overall I reckon. Call it "Hammer Time" or something.
Re the new ball itself, I'm as much in the dark as everyone else by the looks of it. Maybe the Razyr will be Hammers version of the Tornado - same ball, different colours. Or maybe it's an "overseas release" of which some have been bought for sale down here.
There's a pic now though so who knows

See I agree with part of what you said, but I feel announcing new releases at 9.00am EST in the US if unfair to the overseas market. If we leave it at 9:00 am EST that just leave the uK, Australia and Asian countries that much later on the news. The Time zone factor I feel shoukld play a part in letting the other countries have the release first. After all it is based on Dates. If a release is scheduled for example April 29th 2009, not matter what time zone in the world it is, when that clock reaches April29th, they should have the release. This is the way I feel . All I know is Hammer is coming out with some exciting new stuff this upcoming season. This new Razor just may be one

They could look how some other international companies do their releases, nintendo, apple. etc.
I do not agree with "the rest of the world should fit in"
if the company manufacturers the ball at India , but the market is at USA, it's kind of hard to not have the ball at India at the time of release. the place that manufacturers the ball should also have it. I believe it should be or a: released at the manufacturers company or b at 00:00 at all countries.
Hammer Time:
cool slogan. i like it.
But MC Hammer might sue them

hmm, seems a date has been set, or is that just a date.
The new Razor is not per definition a new ball, as in ball reaction etc then the other razor.what about the new exiting stuff (so much marketing going over here) that favor people that play straighter then the ones that aim to have a sharp 90 degree hook.

It's just a date I picked out randomly. Means nothing. If this new Razyr is for real it is the same as the old only different color.
