we have roll offs the week after this saturday. i doubt were gonna win cuz its a youth league and we're going against a TON of handicap, im pretty sure the team were gonna be playing were giving them 250 pins.

:eek: my summer team for last year was givin up bout 250-350 pins week in and week out...but we won the league...so...its not THAT hard.

and my team came over a 200 pin deficit yesterday...well...2 of us did

is your team gonna be in contention next year? - Yeah we are top 3 best teams on paper started really slow and have come to have 2nd most wins and won the league

Going to the NY state elks tournament this coming weekend and would like to put up big numbers in singles and doubles (with my pop) and hopefully roll well with the team and just have fun

30 Clean, Tampa is a very nice place to live. I have been to various baseball tournaments in that area and I always liked the scenery. I have never bowled there, but im pretty sure they wont be too bad. The slide will probably be a lot different here than in Chicago, but hey, What is Florida without Humidity? ;)

On topic;

any league champs here? Yes, 1st place by 10+ points first half, 2nd place in 2nd half.
any records? 711 series is highest in my youth league :D (doesnt look like anyone is gonna poke a stick at it)
any goals met? 600 series, 270+ game, 250+ game, 175+ average, better spare consistency, league champ, and more.. It has been a good year for me.
is your team gonna be in contention next year? I dont know honestly..
why or why not? I will be moving to a different house and team for saturday mornings as the house i bowl at is one of the worst in orlando, and I will be joining a wednesday adult youth league at the worst house too, so we will see.

Yes, I'm picking up 90+% of my 10-pins, and I'm finally happy with the way I release the ball.

Yes, because I'm getting better and I'm going to work with my other teammate over the summer on his spare game.

Champs- No

Records - Had 290 and around 8-10 700's but that was about it, was very sick for half the season so Im fine with that

Any goals met - Not really, my 7 pin shooting is over 90% which is was one of my goals so thats good.

team in contention next year- Yes, as of right now we are getting a key addition to our team next year, so very confident we will be on top.

any goals met? yes, every single one of them, and then some. I didn't make them as high as last year, but my goals were to beat my 290 high game. (I had a 300). Beat my high 741 series. (I had an 804). And just to plain out beat my averages last year. (I beat one by ~11 pins, another by ~8).
is your team gonna be in contention next year?
why or why not? I hope so. Handicap really kills my team when our scratch total is over 950 and not one other team comes close. It just sucks. :(

well i supposed i should answer my own question here

league champs? hope so! the roll off is next monday and we have the chance to win 2 of the 3 thirds of the league. we lost the first third, won the second and if we win 5 tomorrow we win the third third!

any records? shot a 11 in a row, last 11.
any goals met? close, i upped my average by 16 pins to be 2nd high in the leauge, missing that by 2 pins
our team is always in contention or close to it

any records? high game with handi (318, which was a while ago... in december)
any goals met? averaged consistent in all my leagues (187, 191, 190) these averages were hard to achieve... i used to throw track and switched to hammer/ebonite... i had some bad weeks and some good weeks... in december til now i have only threw 650 series (3 games) last week had a 278, 210 and a 209, missed that 700 by 3 pins... :(

We won the first half, but our roll off isn't for another 3 weeks.
No records or goals unfortunately, but hopefully my new Virtual Gravity will fix that.

any records? High average/series (225.02/765), most improved bowler (+21)
any goals met? raised average, play a more inside line with my new Hammer Hot Sauce
is your team gonna be in contention next year? possible but unlikely we can repeat
why or why not? 5 person mixed league - myself, another male (190+ avg) and 3 females - sisters actually (late 60's early 70's averaging between 112-130)... just bowl for fun (fraternal handicap league) and we happened to get lucky this year

--Not sure yet... tonight is last position round and next week is roll-off which we will be in.

--Tied for 2nd highest game (279)
any goals met?
--None yet, biggest goal now is to win this last quarter of the season and to win roll-off. Hard to achieve any goals on this sport pattern, as highest game to date for the season is 289 and highest series is only 736.
is your team gonna be in contention next year?
--Absolutely.
why or why not?
--All four of us agreed to come back in the fall, and we've outscored all other teams in total pinfall by anywhere from 600 to 4000 pins throughout the entire season.

leagues where 2nd place on wed and thurs. and 4th or 5th on fri. and i have to work wed & thurs. nite hope team does well. we have few weeks left we'll see what happens..:cool: got 300 game,still no 700-800 for season yet,doing better with 10pins and spares...could be more consistant with hitting mark and release... overall pleased and not totally satisfied with performance week in week out...but its all good. I will continue to work on my game as a whole.

any league champs here? Yes - Won Monday Night League last night, will roll-off in a few weeks for Thursday League.
any records? No records, but honor scores were 11-in-a-row twice, 290 and 279, and I also had 2 288's (front 10 once and middle 10 once). Also had 771 for a high league series and 768 in state tournament!
any goals met? Lots of them, improved my average, defended league championship, increased my high series, tied my high game.
is your team gonna be in contention next year? There's no reason why we shouldn't be, we're 2-time defending champions! :)

4th Qtr. one week reg. left then playoffs start.

any records?-- Shot a few 279's and have had 7 600+ series in a row these last 7 wks

any goals met?-- In my first year back(20 yrs off) I've accomplished alot Wanted to end with a 170 ave,currently a 172... +35 from the Season Start. Shoot a 600 series and have a good time...Did it all..Now to practice over the summer, I'm gonna go get some lessons from Tom Carter in Rockford,Il., and set new goals.

Nope. Finsihed 5th on Saturday and still have a couple of weeks left for Thursday Nights.

To bowl better this season.
A few years back I averaged at or had a 200 most of the season, end w/ a 199 book average. It was one of the best season I've ever had.
The next season I dealt a injured finger on my bowlong hand. Had a overall decent season, but only averaged 189, was down in low to mid by the time I got a No Mercy... something clicked right off with that ball.
Last season I struggled even worst, my injury had healed but swing, foot work and a couple of thing where just off. Finished the season with a 182 and 173 (Partial season, filled on team to end the season.) average. (I was pissed, mad and about over this...) So towards the end of the season I ended working with a coach. It seemed to help,then I had some trouble suring the summer, but thing where progessing. At the end of the summer we worked together again on some follow up stuff before a tournament. It went well in and continued into the season.

is your team gonna be in contention next year? why or why not?
Saturdays, we hoping that the 3 of will be back and add a fourth to replace the 130 Vacant Score for a female. We may end up moving to another house. Depending on what happens this Summer. So we should be in the mix again.

Thursdays is super competitive, but we are getting better all the time. Think where all going to all be back again next season. So I think we can be just as good.

Nope, couldn't seem to win no matter what we did. For example, last night I shot a 237 and we lost by about 150 that game.

Records?

Set a personal best 7 - 700s in a season only bowling 1 night a week. And a 212.9 average.

Goals?

My goals every season are: 1) Win the league - Nope, 2) Have league high average - Got it, 3) Shoot a 300 - Nope, 2-270s and a 279, 4) Shoot an 800 - Nope, 740 was my best (270, 202, 268 stupid 2nd game).

Contention next year?

Should be. On paper we are the best team in the league if you take all of the averages plus handicap for the teams. We have everyone beat by about 10 pins.

League champs-nope, we finished 2nd for first half and 5th for second half.

Records- got my first 500 series and 200 game badges, using the Hot Sauce.

Goals met- Raise average (went from 131 to149)
have more 200 games this season (finished with 6)
improve on my strikes per night (went from 2-3 a game to 5-6)
improve on my single pin spares (felt that I did but still need to improve on my 10 pin to be more consistent)
Tied my person best of 7 strikes in a row 3 times, and had alot more of 5 strikes in a row than I did before.

Team in contention next year-nope, lost the 2 highest average bowlers because they moved out of state, and might lose the 3rd highest average as well because he wants to try to be a tournament bowler instead. That leaves myself and the brother of the two who moved out of state for next season.

What did I get out of the league-Got a new girlfriend who also throws Hammer, got alot of advice that improved my game quite a bit about my delivery and release from my teamamate who was a ex-pba bowler from back in the day. Had fun for the first time of any league without having to deal with drama or teammates not showing up each week, and got to meet some really cool people who became some good friends.

I also know that without the help from my pro shop and the lessons and advice they have given me, that I wouldn't have had the big improvement in my overall game without them.

Now I'm looking forward to the next league on june 2nd to start to see if I can continue to get better and have even more fun since my girlfriend is going to be on my team for now on.

We ended our season two weeks ago and who would believe that the new kids on the block, our team "Da Ohana" which means "The Family" in Hawaiian...DaRoadHawg(Evan), his wife Mel and our frient JJ and me took it...But I need to let everyone know on this forum that this was the first league that Evan & Mel ever bowled in, JJ came out of retirement after a few years hiatus..We practiced almost every Saturday night and I gave them a few pointers, and it really paid off...Evan ended with a 161 average and Mel took the woman's Most improved Award at 22.3 pins...It was fun to see them progress week after week...I believe we peaking the last 1/2 of the season did it...Evan had a 735 scratch series and had multiple 200+ games several times, Mel had a few 500 series and JJ just upped his average week after week....I was struggling the first couple weeks but had some steady anchoring towards the end when needed...There were a few games against some of harder teams I had to punch out and did...One game against the 2nd place team the 3rd to the last weak I had a 4-7-9-10 split in the last frame and need to pick it up to win and I did and I ended up with a 241 243 246 for a 730 series that night...It was an awsome season for my team and can't wait to defend it next year....I start my summer league tomorrow night in a mens threesome scratch league...Th other three is sitting ouat for the summer but will keep practice practice practice....:)
