I am looking to get a new ball to replace my old Brunswick equipment. Last month I bought a Sauce and really like how it rolls. It has been doing good for me on well oiled lanes especially before league games.
I'm looking for a good medium ball to switch to after the lanes start to break down in my league games. I am tweener and throw with a medium amount of revs. I often play on typical house shots and will be joining a sport shot league in May. I carry a 170-180 average and I'm looking to move that up a bit.
My eyes are set on either grabbing a Hammer Acid or a Hot Sauce. Both seem like they would work out good for me but I am just not to sure.
I like a good amount of hook on a ball so it has been said the the acid my be a better fit for my playing style (out and in). After reading the reviews on both balls I am at the crossroads.
Any suggestions.
Thanks guys.

Well both balls would be good for a med condition. The difference being the Acid will read the mids sooner than the Hot Sauce. The Acid will also have a streonf backend but not a skid flip type reaction but a strong arc.
The Hot Sauce will get through the heads and mids very clean and then make a hard sharp lef(for a right handed player) on the back end.
I would suggest personally an Acid with maybe something like a 4 1/2 X 3 layout Pin up drill.
But Like I said, both would be good for a med condition.

you may also consider a BWSolid with a #2 drill in it. makes a nice arc that is controllable. That was my first Hammer ball, took it out of the shop and rolled a 228. Back then my delivery was not as well tuned as it is today,
Bubba I was using that ball the first time Jimmy and I met you in Scranton.

personally if sticking with hammer i wouldnt get the HSP or the acid... both balls are great just a bit strong in my opinion... i would consider something like the venom or the bite... both are much weaker than the sauce and get good to great length (not near the HSP)... but if you only want one of those 2 listed above id get the HSP for the much extra length.

VMS, I remember that day very well. And I admire you and your son on how much both of you have come in your games. You look like a totaly different person throwing now. All for the good of course. Congrats to you and your son on all your hard work .

I would also look at the Vibe series I have a blue vibe and it handles med oil well, I use the Sauce and once it dries up a bit I use the BV and most of my High Scores have been with that Ball.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions you guys! This will make my ball choice a little easier. I have generally preferred an arc over the skid/snap but I have grown used to it thanks to my sauce. So I will continue on comparing these two choices and figure out which I prefer. Once I choose one I will come back and post the results.
More than likely I might go the HSP route....I think

Another good choice for a skid reaction would be the Psycho. It is longer then the Acid and just a touch weaker.
The Bite is a good choice, I find longer than the Acid as well. The overall hook is about the same.
The Cherry or Emerald Vibe would be a couple of Skid-Flip options for you as well.

So I finally made a decision a week ago and got the Hot Sauce. I've only been able to use it on 4 different outtings. Of the 4 times out with it I have only faced a decent amount of oil once.
I noticed that while playing on oil it did not seem to have a good amount of movement or snap in the backend that I expected. I put a good amount of revs on the ball so I dont know if I was just throwing too hard or not. My speed is around 15mph.
Both my hot sauce and sauce seemed to force me to play straight up. I'm really thinking of taking the covers down a bit on both my sauce and hot sauce. I do not necessarily want to dull the hot sauce down a lot at all, just enough to get some bite. I may just take keep the hot sauce at OOB and just focus on bringing the sauce down to 1000.
Here is a link to see how both balls are laid out:
