Anyone know what we can expect from Hammer in the next few months? I have heard that all the Labels were trying to get their releases out early due to the World Series of Bowling. Storm has leaked their info out on five balls just wondering if anyone has heard what Hammer might be doing?

The Natural is Urethane cover (looks awesome). The Fast and Furious and Natural have the Turbine core in them. The Virtual Energy and Virtual Gravity both have the Inverted Fe Core.

The Fast and Furious are supposed to be replacing the Street Rods and the energy will be the Rogue Cell cover on the VG core.

Columbia will have some new pieces out to replace the Resurgence, Momentum and Rivals.

I have heard but have not confirmed a new vibe and something in the raw line

3 of them have the same turbine core (Fast/Furious/Natural), while the other one has the inverted Fe core.

I agree, I also think the Virtual (Gravity) looks really good, but I barely see enough oil to use my two "top hooking" bowling balls as it is. :(

I'm eager to see what Hammer comes up with. My only hope is that they tell us what the balls are designed for instead of, or in addition to, the uninformative hype that has been coming lately. The description of the Acid (below) from the Hammer site tells you exactly nothing about what the ball is designed to do or how it compares to other Hammer balls.

There's nothing safe about the Acid Raw Hammer. Made with our Max-Hook Reactive coverstock and Raw Hammer Assault core, we've designed it to be dangerous from the outside in; a scary combination of power and control you won't find in any other mid-level ball. The Raw Hammer Acid. Let the pins burn.

Designed to be "dangerous"?... What does that mean, exactly? Hype it up all you want, but also please tell me about the ball. I'd like to know what I can expect it to do on the lanes and get an understanding of what its purpose is.

Here are some quotes on some prior releases that has some info on what the ball is supposed to do.

HAMMER 411...EMERALD VIBE
Tuesday, 05/27/2008

Emerald Vibe HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. - Designed to be longer than Cherry Vibe and stronger in the backend, Hammer's new Emerald Vibe is a hot performer and a real looker!

“Designed be a little longer and stronger than its predecessor, Emerald Vibe is just the right choice for medium-dry to dry lane conditions,” said Jeff Ussery, brand manager. “And, Emerald Vibe takes the blue ribbon in appearance. Its beautiful emerald green pearl coverstock really pops on the shelf and looks phenomenal on the lanes.”

HAMMER 411...RAW HAMMER PSYCHO
Tuesday, 05/27/2008

Raw Hammer Psycho HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. - The straight jacket has been removed and it's about to get crazyintroducing Raw Hammer Psycho.

“Psycho is an upgrade for Raw Hammer fans looking for strong mid-lane motion with continuous backend arc, thanks to the brand new Raw Hammer Assault core and Max-Hook Reactive Pearl coverstock,” said Jeff Ussery, brand manager. “Its aggressive performance is right on the money and you can't beat Psycho's Orange/Silver appearance in terms of shelf appeal in the mid-price category.”

HAMMER 411.. BLACK WIDOW PEARL
Monday, 06/04/2007
HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. (June 4, 2007)
With Hammer's new Black Widow Pearl, the bite is back and twice as deadly.

"Lethal on all lane conditions, Black Widow was designed to provide more entry angle and more hitting power," said Brian Graham, brand manager. "With our latest addition to the line, Black Widow Pearl, Hammerheads have more length than ever with violent bite in the backend."

Now here is Rotogrip's Mar's description.
The final addition to the best value performance line of bowling balls on the market is the Mars™.

The signature touch to this planet series ball is the Sure Grip II™ hybrid reactive coverstock. The combination of solid and pearl reactive delivers the best of both worlds on those medium to lighter volume patterns.

The Orbiter II™ core creates the inertial force to power this planet to deliver smooth controllable hook for all types of players.

Now for their new Rogue Cell description

ROGUE CELL™
A new generation within the kingdom has materialized and looks to seek total domination.

The Rogue Cell™ utilizes the latest generation of the Cytoplasmic™ coverstock series. The Cytoplasmic XL™ hybrid reactive coverstock features a unique blend of additives creating the highest friction to lane values ever produced by Roto Grip. The blend of solid and pearl coverstock generates the strongest and most consistent hook from release to impact.

The energy from within comes from the highly successful, performance proven Nucleus™ core. This unique asymmetrical core powered the original Cell™ to "Ball of the Year" in 2008.

Mutated from the original, the Rogue Cell™ is set to challenge for superiority in the bowling kingdom.

Now Storms Second Demension description

Enter another level

The next level of performance, is the Second Dimension™. With the success of the Continuum™ Core in the original Dimension™, we decided to focus our attention on the other half.

We first pearlized, then reformulated the R2X™ coverstock by infusing a physically altered mica known as Enhanced Traction Mica (E.T.M.). Our tests showed a 15% increase in surface profile, and as the ball traveled down the lane, we saw a 10% jump in friction values.

Amazingly, these surface values remained consistent all the way from the factory polished to a 1000-grit Abralon™ finish. This technology offers maximum flexibility by adding length and increased entry angle to the pocket on medium to lighter volume patterns.

Welcome to the Second Dimension.

So I think Hammer says just alittle bit more about what the ball is designed for comapired to other companies.

So hybrid cell cover on a Virtual core, man that ball is gonna move.

Man, i will have to get that Virtual Energy unless something better comes along with hammer. I have good success with the Cell covers =P I hate my virtual gravity, so im not so sure. I think its drilled wrong because it hooks less than my Cell Pearl for some reason. Even on heavy oil, like they "accidentally" layed out shark and my CP outhooks it still. so i think i will end up selling it later on or re-drilling it. Im definitely going to sell my psycho for 40+ dollars to a kid in my league. so that i can pay for re-surfface then sell.. which would really be selling it for like 20 or less dollars, but that ball is like 500+ games and still hooks, so its ok i guess.

No argument (and Roto / Storm have some of the worst), but I still think Hammer's could be improved.

Visionary, generally speaking of course, seems to do a better job than most. If you look at their site and read about, say, the Gladiator, it's easy to come away from that with a good understanding of what to expect out of that ball.

I'm just saying I'd like to see Hammer add a bit more insight. I think it would help customers with their buying decisions. I'm sure I'm like a lot of people who don't have as much money to spend on bowling as they'd like. For most of us, a better-informed decision is easier to make. Buying an Acid because it does a certain thing or has a certain reaction (whatever it does, I don't know) is more realistic than buying it because its "dangerous".

Just trying to offer some constructive criticism.

Yea they were one of the balls on the discontinued list, they lasted long enough they've been out a few years already. They can only stay out so long, for many people the best ball Hammer every came out with.
