Subing with my father-inlaw. BWP-First game 300. Second game First frame 10 pin could not pick it, next 7 stikes, 8 spare, 2 strike 7, 254. Third game 2 strikes, 4 pin could not pick it, 7 strikes, 8 1 = 254. As it stands 808. First 800. Not! Because someone in the league a long time ago said while two teams are rolling off for the championship, the rest of the league will bowl 9 pin tap. Shot 800 can not enjoy it. I will even except missing the 10 and 4 pins I still shot 808. Life is cruel sometimes.
Is that it or can the League be nice and vote me an 800?

Excellent bowling CJ
If you subbed in a league that is sactioned and your 808 was legit without any No Tap strikes it is a score that should be honored. I bowled in a summer No Tap League that was Sanctioned last summer with my GF and I shot 300 -825 and USBC Honored the score. It doesn't matter if the rest of the teams bowled No Tap, it is a Sacntioned USBC League , the score should be honored No matter who stated the rest of the teams should bowl No Tap. Like I said as long as it was a legit score without any No Tap strikes, You deserve to get the Honor Awards.

i would print of an award application from bowl.com and get your league secretary to sign it and send it in to the association secretary/manager and go from there. like bubbaray said, USBC should still honor the score. good luck and let us know how it turns out.
trying to help another member "tyketto" on getting and 800 award score from 1996 also.

I agree, the scores should count. If it was not a regular league night competition and just the teams in the roll off were in competition, you may not get the award. It won't hurt to send in the award application anyway, you are guarenteed not to get it if you don't.

we had something similar happen in my Friday night league last year. on the last night of league it was Sweepstakes night. the winner's of the 1st half and 2nd half were bowling for the overall league championship, and everyone was bowling for sweepstakes money. one bowler shot a 300 game; we filled out the award application and sent it in and he received his ring not long after.

I had the same problem, I bowled a no tap tournament up at the house I bowl at that was sanctioned, I had natural 279-279-279, but I had 1 no tap strike in the middle of each game, so they didnt count. Even if I whiffed every 9 count I still would have had 801. Sucked, but nothing I could do because of the 9's.

But if all the strikes were legit strikes it would have counted. My legit 300 / 825 count4d in a No Tap league last year. They have to be legit strikes.
