Well, fellow hammer-heads, I wish I could report a 700 series on my first outing in league. Unfortunately, things didn't go so well. On a fresh dressed shot, I threw the NM for about 5 frames. I decided that there wasn't enough oil for it and went to the BW. Didn't do much better with it either. By the start of the third game, I wasn't getting any oil track on ball what-so-ever! It was so bad that the tuff was starting to hook. I wish I could say I had a medium shot like I normally have. But, instead, I think there was only enough oil to last one game. As for my series, I shot a 450.....Yeah, I know:( Well, there is always next week. Maybe there will be some oil next time. I just have to remember that no matter the conditions, the bowler is the one who has to adjust to the lanes. I just didn't adjust the right way this time.

I agree about having to adjust, but only having a widow and a no mercy when faced with dry lanes is simply making it hard on yourself.

I have other equipment, but just didn't have it with me. Our friday league is usually fresh dressed. So, I wasn't expecting bone dry by the start of the third game. In fact, I watched them run the machine up and down the lanes before we started. I guess they just laid down less than usual.

i was at a house the other night that was bone dry. I didnt have my spare ball with me and picking up a 7 pin (lefty) was pretty impossible - no matter how much I flattened out my wrist the ball just wants to hook. Better luck next week, im sure you'll rock it.

I also found lanes drier than normal for Friday night league but made some educated adjustments to 669 series tonight with my BW and NM. Anyway ---- 1st game 234. Second game ball started hooking crazily in 9th/10th and I ended up with 199 (big four in "11th" and left all of them on a double).

Changed to NM for third game and moved left. Played around and finished with 236 (ending with 5 strikes and 9). Although my highest games have been with BW the NM hits like a truck.

My point is that for my game the BW and NM combo seems pretty good. :D :D Next week will add Toxic. Will need to develop three ball strategy.

I like the BW to start out the evening. I find the NM to be too strong to play the first line that I like. Also, the NM line I like is generally not there right away. I think I need the arrow 2 players to kind of build up some sort of pattern of oil that I throw into later in the evening like a backboard or something.
