new bw

I have recently puchased a bw. the specs of the ball are as follows 15.01 top weight 3 1/4 oz. ping distance 3-4. if i look at the drilling instructions i would like to drill it with the strong layout (drilling #3). My span is not as long as the one shown in the layout. If i put the cg in the center of my grip the pin will end up 1 to 2 inches above my finger. can any one suggest how i will have the ball drilled to get the strong layout.

i would say i am more like a stroker than a cranker. i wanted the strong layout because of the suggestion under best condition low to med rev bowlers. this would probably suite my game more.
