He's tied for first place in an adult/jr league and tonight is the last night. So yesterday afternoon we went to do a little practice.
He leaves th 4-7, 6-9-10. Then he turns to me and asks how do I pick it up? Now I've been told that you shoot the 4-7 and let the 7 do the job on the 6-9-10. But on a whim, I told him to just shoot the 10 pin.
So he shoots the at ten pin, hits the 6-10, 6 takes out the 7, 7 bounces off the left wall kicking out the 4, 4 slides across tripping out the nine.
best part is I'm capturing video of his approach and release, I captured the leave but not the pickup. He turns arround and says, "tell me you got that!!!" about five times. Of course I didn't...
So he makes me take a video of the scoring monitor showing 5/.

Tell your son I said congrats on the split conversion. It's me but the way I would shoot for that spare would be shooting for the 6-9-10 and the 6 pin should go accross lane and take out the 4-7. Any way you can make it is an awsome conversion. Congrats again to him.
BTW I am moving this to the Main forum if that's ok.

Congrats to Jimmy, would have been nice to get it on tape. Definately not an easy thing to do, but your supposed to shoot to the right or the 6-9-10 or left of the 4-7-8 for me and shoot the outside pin across. Its not an easy thing to do because its hard to get the pin to kick up and cover both of the pins, have only made it a couple times. Great Job.:)

if tis just practice i'll shooot the 4-7 and try to hit the 9 in the front with the 4, that'll make it go back and hit the 6 and the 10.

VMS tell your son nice job. Does he use a spare ball?

Well that's a long story, but yes he uses a spare ball for right side leaves. I'm desperately trying to get him to shoot most spares, non-double wood, with his spare ball. That is an up hill battle. Kids will be kids........

Here's and idea that he might listen to. Have Chris talk to him and explain the advantages of using a spare ball at the spares and maybe he will listen then. It somethimes helps if someone other than family tells somebody something. I do not know why but kids will tend to listen to someone else first.

excellent suggestion. we're iffy about going back to dick ritgers this year so maybe spending a few days @ nutmeg bowl may be in his future.
I was slightly mis informed about adult junior monday night league, next week is the last week. I checked the reslults yesterday. They went 3/4.
lost first game by 5 won second by 40+ lost last game by 3. Found out son was missing 10 pins, literally left and right. So we're going to have to find out how to adjust for that. But ofcourse, I can't line him up........

line up in practice,
take notes,
repeat in league (and use the cheat sheet to remember things).

here's a few minutes of that practice with the 5/.
Most of these shots were with his BWPearl and one or two with his Cherry Vibe from Stampy79.
