I am looking into buying a new ball. heres my problem. I have a black widow, first hammer ball i have owned. i didnt like the reaction i was getting so i sanded down to a 500 finish. ball is great. my average has gone up 10 pins. heres my problem. dont know if i should by a toxic or no mercy. think if i buy no mercy i will have about the same thing as i have now with the widow. but i want the toxic for the lanes as they burn out in the center. alot of bowlers play right around center arrow in my league. help!! This question would depend on how you have your BW drilled. In out-of-box condition, the NM is about 5 to 10 boards stronger than the BW. The Hawg Zilla is another great heavy oil ball that's about 5 to 10 boards stronger than the BW. Now, I can't say anything bad about the Toxic. In fact, I will probably have one this spring. So, it all depends on what direction you wish to go.....

NM moves more and hits harder in my opinion than the BW. These two balls are not that similar in my opinion.
I have all purpose drilling on BW and Drilling #1 on NM.
I believe that a 4th arrow game would be great for the NM. I can play inside with the BW but, the NM seems to do better there for me.

millhouse...I agree with you about the BW sanded down to 500 grit should equal the performance the NM would give you. You stated you wanted a ball for when the lanes burn up. (probably last game to game and half of your set). The Toxic might be the correct choice for you as it would get thru the heads with ease, just I'm not sure it could handle heavy oil carry down...(someone with a Toxic and throws on heavy oil with carry down needs to respond for us here). My guess is you are throwing on Med-heavy to heavy oil with the 500 grit BW. I will say it again the Toxic is really a lighter oil ball maybe you should look at the pain or the original doom, the pain will handle a little more oil and might be more to you liking.....just my 2 cents

Well after long consideration, and talking with scott alexander for about an hour, we decided to go with no mercy. out of the box the nm was 7-10 boards more than the bw. no mercy hits like a truck. i can throw the same spot, the widow hooks up earlier, but just arcs a little. i can throw no mercy outside and it comes back awesome. thanks for all the great advice.
