Personally I'd go with the Doom. Will have more lengthen thru the oil.
Both balls are fairly aggressive.
Doom-Reactive/Polished
Saw Blade-Particle/Sanded

My pro shop guy recommended a Toxic for me. Brian Graham from Hammer recommended the same thing. He said the Toxic is a "better" Doom.
I cant wait til the Black Widow pearl comes out for the lighter conditions:D

Saw Blade-Particle/Sanded
saw blade is a particle pearl, the saw blades is stronger then you think, it almost hooks out my sharp blade on a heavyish pattern and on meduim dry, it will snap way to much and leaves lots of 10 pins, 9pin etc and even Big 4's. even tho i would recommend the blades to anybody, you should really get a doom or a toxic
anywho thats what i think

Right. I threw the Saw Blade and the Real Deal, both are fairly aggressive balls even two years later. Just got confused about the cover. The both hook a similar amount of hook.
I have a Switch Blade pins above the bridge and cg in the center of the grip, for dry conditions. I never threw a Blade that I did not like.
Bought 5 of them if that tells you anything about the line. Threw 5 of 8 from the line. (Blade, Blade Particle, 2 Sharp Blades and Switch Blade)
Of the two you listed the Doom, but alot of people love the Sling Blade.
But a Blade Pearl or Switch Blade would be good. As I'm sure the Toxic would also be a good choice.
Raw Hammer Doom or Toxic.
Blades: Sling, Pearl or Switch.

I have the TOXIC for when the lanes start to break down and it flat out performs for me. This ball is very forgiving and carries like a banshee. I use it a lot more than the PAIN becuase the PAIN likes the oil more.

I have the other two balls in the RAW line with the PAIN and TOXIC.
I've pondered getting a DOOM also, but of all the current Hammer balls, the Doom is the only one I've ever heard anything negative about.
There is someone on here (I forget his s/n), that says it hits like a wet marshmallow or something to that affect.
With having a PAIN and TOXIC, what advantage would having a DOOM bring?

I too have been looking into getting the doom... I have had several people recommend it to me. I have also seen the toxic in action and it is a hella awesome ball. If looking into a med oil ball I would go with one of those two.

I throw a Doom and can only say that I LOVE it. I has a lot of carry with a very stong backend. It hits hard in my book. Would not use it on hvy oil...medium at the most. Steve

i agree, i love my sling blade, i am trying to find another sling blade, becoming very hard to find even 2nd hand. but yeh the switch blade drilled long would do the job i guess as well

The Doom will do all of its hooking late. It would be used on about the same condition as the Toxic but give you a different look. It will skid up front better and hook later than the Toxic and a bit sharper. Keeping it polished will show off this balls strength.
