I will be ordering my Toxic very soon now. I had believed that the Widow pearl was coming out in Feb. I have heard from a very reliable source that the release date has been pushed up to the start of next season due to the fact that the current Widow is still selling and doing so well.
I had been holding out on the Toxic until the pearl comes out but now I will go ahead and order it. Should have it very soon and will update on how it works for me.

You won't be disappointed with the TOXIC. I haven't come across anyone (including myself) that has anything bad to say about that ball.

I'm heartbroken! I just asked my pro, via email, if he thinks I should go Toxic or wait on the BW Pearl. I do have a RS-1, which is a pearl, but it doesn't hit like a Hammer. I want to replace it, but with the BWP release held up, I guess it's a Toxic. Do you guys think it's what I need for when the lanes dry up? Grayfin, you have nothing but good things to say about it, so I'm leaning that way...plus the price is right. Of course with synthetic lanes coming to my house, I may not need a pearl at all. I'm so

Just thought of another question...if I go Toxic, which drill pattern is best for a stroker, med revs, med speed, who stands with left toe on 20 (middle dot) and plays 2nd arrow out to 5? Thanks!

My bowling center is synthetic and the TOXIC eats 'em up. I find the TOXIC more versatile than my PAIN. The PAIN likes the heavier oil, but the TOXIC seems to be more forgiving and workable on medium to light.

Both balls are extremely forgiving on light hits especially and sometimes on heavy hits. Brooklyn strikes are also very common. I've never owned a bowling ball that gives me better pin action than the PAIN and TOXIC.

The reason I bought the TOXIC is for lighter conditions. Now I use it as soon as the lanes start to break down. And you can't ask for more ball for the price with the RAW line.

Grayfin,
Just added this to my last post, but too late for you to see it...

You should probably ask your pro about that. I'm a Tweener, so my layout may not work for you. It also depends on what type of reaction you are looking for. But here's the link to the drilling layouts for the TOXIC:

http://www.hammerbowling.com/tech_info/detail.php?drilling=Drilling%20Instruction%201

I have the High RG, Medium Layout.

If I were you, I'd ask my pro or ball driller to watch you bowl a few frames to let him/her get a feel for what your style is. Then you'll have to decide what you want the ball to do. After that, you should be able to make the right decision.

If he/she can't be there to watch you, just explain what type of bowler you are, and your starting position, target etc, and tell him/her what you want the ball to do.

Oh, I'm a big believer in having my pro watch before deciding. He's advised me and drilled up my last two balls. I guess I can forgive him for recommending the RS-1 for me last year. For some strange reason, he has a hard time selling Hammers at his shop in my home town. I had to email him at his other shop when I ordered my BW. I've already asked him about the Toxic (shot him another email after jman69 delivered the bad news on the BW Pearl). I'll wait to see what he says. I told him I want to go totally Hammer!

I am a cranker so I have to go with a mild drill on my balls. I have the label layout on my Black WIdow and it works when I crank the ball or when I throw it stroker style. That is probably what I will have to do on the Toxic. It sucks about the pearl but now I am fairly anxious to get my Toxic:D

Jman69...After you get your Toxic, and if you get a chance to throw it my way (stroker), let me know how it works for you. I'm not quite ready to commit until I get familiar with the new lanes.

I can do that. It will probably be a month or so because I am just a working man with a budget:( I will definitely let you know how it works for me when I finally get it.
