new hammer idea

I walked into my proshop 3 days ago and seen an awesome thing or so i thought. they had this display of 4 hammer sting balls and you could rent them for 10 dollars and also finger grips but those were urs to keep. i was like this is great right until the shop guy david told me oh mike sorry its for righties only so no go for me,however for all you righties have fun and enjoy.

Might read this over again, sounds like a good ideal to me.

To me it sounds like you have to buy finger tips, but you keep them... it part of the cost of the demo. These things are not always free... alot of time they'll apply the cost of the demo towards the price of the ball. But you can try the ball and get a free set of grips for $10. Sounds like a decent deal.

10$ basically would cover the price of the grips and they would make whatever profit for using the ball. Otherwise they wouldnt be making any money on it, have to make the price of the ball back I'm assuming.

i know idle, but i'm saying for me not having a job and parents low on money, id rather not buy 3 games at like 2 dollars a peice and then $10 to rent it. If my parents let me one day ill go try it out though. On colonial lanes, the ball wont stay right probably.. (wood) and last time I bowled there my psycho was reacting incredibly..

Wonder if they'd pull grips out of another ball or let you bring your own?

Not sure what that proshop charges for grips... but I've seen some charge quite a bit more than others. I've seen shop charge twice what I've seen other shops charge for grips. While it may not be alot of money it the principle to me. Think some shops try to make as much on every little thing while other realize it not that big of an issue.

Just my .02 cents.

It would be better if you could try 2-3 balls for $25 bucks and get a 4-5 games. Grips included... it a touch more it has some games included. Extra games at the league rate.

Well just recently noticed a new sign in my pro-shop! Free Demo's on the track 505c, 715a, and 930t :D Now they are track, but hey its free balls to use.. They dont charge anything, just buy ur own games.. we have a track staffer, so he demo's lots of new track stuff :cool:

In all fairness, Mike Wolfe was throwing the ball terrible the entire shootout. I did like the way the 715A rolled though, all things considered. I'd rather wait to see how people around here roll them, as there is a group of like 5 people in my PBAX league who all had the entire Rising series.

umm wow? now were attacking me? first of all this is wayy more appealing then having to pay to "rent" it, which is the same as demoing a ball.. They let you demo all 3 for nothing but u have to pay for as many games as you want. And 3 games there for me is usually free, or i get 2 free and 1 paid at like $1.70. Colonial, (where sting thing is at) i dont ever bowl there, so i would pay like $20 for 3 games and bowl 3 games with the sting. Now, with that said.. I would love to pay that to demo the sting, but i cant afford to go pay that right now as i dont have a form of getting money. All of my baseball stuff got stolen and i had to end up paying $400+ to get gear back. and i owe my parents.. SO, if you would love to stop making comments like that without having an idea of what i meant or whats going on, you can. Okay, thanks bye, Can-ham.. I don't post here anymore just because i have nothing to say really.. I check in and see if anything that i can comment on is there and leave. So, you aren't giving me much reason to get on here more either.. :cool:

Since I've posted in this thread...

It all started as a "Great Ideal by Hammer"... rent a new ball for $10, plus grip.... and oh yeah game cost too.

It got turned into a money deal for one. We all understand money issue for kids, teens or even adults. Most of here can't just buy or do everything we want. My opinion is that most of us don't bring it up, other than a passing comment at most.

While it great to have some moderation around here, we should be forced to get along... while some of us will correct, call-out, etc. it doesn't mean we don't respect or dislike the person. But, I don't like to be threatened in posting a certain way either. Think I keep most of my stuff tame and generally nice or PC.

The "Wild West" or days right before where pretty bad, since Bubba it's ran smoother. But, to be honest before the "wild time" things where generally okay as well. Your always gonna have a thread that does go over well. But, we other stuff worse than this in the past year, that has been worse. We have plenty of smart comment here.

Occasionaly people might take comments the wrong way.....it happens I don't know if I have ever seen a Malicous attack on here the way you might over at BR.com while yes I post there I enjoy this site much more because I don't have to defend my self and can read throw a post without having to see people attacking others. Because of the baseball thing.. im in debt on 4 weeks of free chores to my parents... so until thats up im passing on this, but when i have the money id be glad to go try it out...

Hey this was meant as a joke, I apologize if it was taken the wrong way. I never meant to disrespect you Walkin. That being said there is always some underlying trueth in allot of jokes. Did you come off a cheap in your posts? I think so, should I have made a post about it? Probably not. If anyone understands money issues, it's me I support a family on a single income. But I also understand proshops and bowling alleys are businesses and they need to charge money to keep the doors open...

I understand the whole money problem, but if you look at it from the pro shops standpoint its not that expensive. I'm assuming this place isnt a Hammer Staff pro shop, so they have to pay for the Stings, unlike your pro shop which is Track Staff and gets the balls for nothing, so they dont have to charge anything except for grips to stay even. The shop that is buying the Stings say buys 5 balls for 110$ (just a number), so thats 550$ they are in the hole to start. So they pay 4$ for grips and charge 10$, so they are making 6$ profit on that. They have to get 92 people to try this just to break even on it. If you look at it from that standpoint its very understandable why they charge what there charging, they have to make some sort of a profit from it to break even, then hopefully it will help them sell Stings which is where they will make there profit.

Just my .02, but I understand what you are saying about not having the $$ to do it, just was saying that from a pro shop standpoint they are just trying to break even.
