Sup everyone its been sometime since i have been on the fourms. I just wanted to say that I have been accepted to Webber Interational University in Babson Park, FL and I am going to compete in their colegiate bowling team. Also I will be practicing in the Kegel Training Center in Lake Wales, FL in which I am exicted to be in. :D
The sad part about it is I cannot use hammer equipment...just ebonite exclusive balls i.e. The One, Magic, NV series so on and so on. So I have to get rid of my hammer stuff. So if anyone wants to trade my hammer for some recent ebonite stuff contact me. Thanks for reading this.

Congrats on being accepted. Its definately not a bad thing switching to Ebonite, trust me they have been coming out with a lot of good stuff, Get your hands on a Lanebreaker. The old NV line was awesome for me, and the Gamebreaker is the perfect Benchmark ball. Keep us updated on how you do.

Thanks. Yeah I've been looking at the NV line and I am trying to get my hands on the Gamebreaker, Playmaker, and maybe the Striking Motion I need to get some more reviews on it.

Congrats Jermarace on being accepted at Webber Interational University and bowling in their program. It's not all bad that you can't use Hammer . Look at it this way, you are still going to use the beat equipment out there Ebonite. Remember their slogan? BOWL TO WIN.
Good luck and I wish you the best.

Ebonite has a wide range of stuff to use. There new stuff looks great I would caution against using the Striking Motion but everything else looks pretty good.

striking motion is good, just dont expect it to cover a LOT of boards, its a smoother even rolling ball that is good but not what it was advertised as.

I agree, if you dont have higher revs or looking for a ball with a urethane type reaction, then I would reccomend against the striking motion.

He could use the Striking Motion. The Striking Motion is a smooth rolling ball and is not flippy or a gigantic hooking ball as everyone thinks it is. He should be alright with his revs and speed.

I am thinking abou the Striking Motion I need a smoother ball for the later oil patter transitions and I thought the Striking Motion would be that ball. Other balls I am thinking about are.
Some of the NV series balls
Bash, Clash, or Boom
The One
Magic
Evolve
Lanebreaker

You might want to take a close look at the Majic Touch. That ball is also a smooth rolling ball and will fit what you are looking for in the later oil patterns.
The Lanebreaker is also a good choice as it gets down the lane ans had a movement to the pocket that will suprise you for a midline ball.
The Evolve is very strong and predictable with good continuation through the pins.

All good balls, except The One IMO the first one wasnt too great in my opinion and the remake was worse than the first one.

Sounds nice man. Kegel center to be honest, will make you think u are amazing because the pin action is INCREDIBLE. instead of wood siding they have concrete on both sides and stuff, so the pins bounce around a lot.. i saw someone pick up a 5-10 split hitting the 10 LOL. the amazing thing is NOT an insult. I know you're a good bowler i watched video way back when.. Sorry if u took the amazing thing bad.. It means like u should bowl many 300's :p

Awesome ball, I am on my second one now and was very happy with both of them, had a lot of my highest blocks and a 300 with it. Very smooth but strong ball with good midlane.

Congrats...
To be honest I would not start getting rid of my bowling equipment, unless your trading for a few things you really want. Some good trades might be for older stuff you interested in having in the bag.
You can always sell it later. I'd let the coach recommend stuff for you.

I have to trade since the team is ebonite only so I cannot do anything with mines. I am hoping to trade the bite for something strong in the ebonite line and the original for something around the same. This was the coaches suggestion, to get some stuff and if I buy new it needs to be ebonite.

You don't have to trade them. Just keep them home. After college you can throw what ever you want. Don't be in a hurry to get rid of them. I know alot of people that got accepted to college's and are bowling in their bowling programs. The college give them 10 free balls. Maybe your college can offer some balls to you for free. Never hurts to inquire.

Its not concrete, its magnesium.
oh, someone around here said concrete. But w/e it is, it has a ton of pin action LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if i bowled a 300 there.. or anywhere lately to be honest.. Since my coaching on saturday's fixxed the kegel problems Average increased and accuracy increased.

Kegel problems? Please explain... if I remember right you bowled some pretty good games once you cameback from your session.

Walkin do you care to elaborate on what issue Kegel caused?
Its not concrete, its magnesium.
Was thinking the same thing... concrete would tear the crap of the pins. Would be cool to see something other than wood. Since it probably doesn't hold up all that well either. Sure it might be more costly on the front end, but if you never have to replace them... over time thats less in repair and maintenance fees.

Ok, it started off okay at kegel, but the way they had me setup i was VERY uncomfortable, and eventually the good scores ended and my average started dropping. They did get me into a 5 step, but thats all i kept now. Also the ball is close to my head in setup like they said, i just have my head less left because the ball i used to hold in the middle of my chest.. now its lower and i have a lower backswing. I am more accurate and can control my shots much better. I also have more balance since i listened to the coach at my saturday league. I bowled a 267 and 268 so far this summer since i started using his advice and my average is up now and my 10 pins are about 7 or 8 out of 10 times now which used to be like 4 out of 10.. :D Its not that Kegel created problems, but i was very inconsistant.. like one week 600+ next like a 510 or lower.. So yea. Now i almost always shoot a 530+ and the only time i have bad series' are when the lanes aren't oiled properly.. which is often at my Wednesday night.. The machine is messed up, so their backends are only cleaned every once in a while.. Its frustrating not getting any consistant reads with 3 days of carrydown ya know? but there is my kegel explanation.. very long winded because i had nothing better to do.

I agree with BubbaRay here. You do not have to get rid of them at all. In my case when I started at Nebraska, I was an exclusively Faball bowler; Blue, Blue Pearl. It was at that time that Nebraska was completely Ebonite. Turbo, Turbo X, Crush, Crush-R, Nitro-R, Nitro-R2. While I ended up mainly Ebonite, I kept those Hammers around. The key is that the collegiate team is an Ebonite team at Tournaments or wherever you are representing the college. outside of that, you are free to use whatever you want.
I still have that Blue and Blue Pearl Hammer, and they still work great, while 2 of the 3 Turbo Xs that I have and the Nitro-R and R2 are sitting in boxes at my mother's house, the 3rd Turbo X still rolls great.
At the very least, Ebonite may offer serious discounts for the balls you'll be using. They did for me: at the time, the Turbo X, Nitro R and R2 were $220 bowling balls. I ended up getting them for $90 each. It's worth looking into and you may come out with a new ball that you like.
But definitely keep your balls around. You never know when they may be needed. If I hadn't kept my Blue Hammer when I needed to stop using it in 1992, I wouldn't have shot my second 300 game 2 years ago.

The problem when someone makes wholesale changes, is it can create issues down the road they may need to be resolved. It's always good find something that works.
Some of this leads me to believe that you where having issues in targeting, either at the breakpoint or arrows.
Head is less left? That sounds goofy to me. Your right handed correct?

yea they changed everything. which i dont think they necesarily needed.. but eventually i did have problems down the road.. I mean maybe my head is same place, im just holding lower and less awkward.. The ball might not be TOTALLY lined up with my head, but either way im much more consistant now. my bad nights are like 160's each game.. and my good ones are 190's and then usually one breakout 230+ :p I like my new coach, he coaches everyone on the league and teaches different for each one because he knows bowling is mostly comfort to begin with right? And on the 10-pin thing.. it wasn't aim or breakpoint or anything with targeting.. its just i couldn't hit where i knew i needed too.. I knew where but couldn't get it there sometimes.. :o

whats with the hi-jacking of the thread?
TenPinSniper
07-16-2009, 03:52 AM
You know while it seems this thread was hi-jacked or turned craptastic :D (sp?)... it does seem to kinda be on topic.
Since it about selling or trading Hammer's for Ebonite's and he brought up that his training or practice will be held at Kegel.
So we decide to bring the awesome side boards. And Walkin brought up issues his coach fixed after his session at Kegel. While it may not be 100% on topic, I see how it got where it did. (To be honest I was thinking the same thing earlier today.)
