Pins placement is distance from white dot to CG (center of gravity) I like 3-4".
Top weight is the amount of weight (out of balance) towards top of the weight block (in my understanding). Basically 2.5-3.5oz common, give driller more options when drilling the ball. Remember per USBC rules, a ball can have no more than 1oz top and side weight.

Thanks for the reply sniper, you seem to know what your talking about. ok so what your telling me is that all no mercy balls are not manufactured the same way you need to specify pin placement and top weight when purchaseing a ball RIGHT....or can i just purchase any NO-Mercy ball and give the ball driller at my near by pro shop the #2 layout and he will know what to do.
Thanks for the HELP

yeah, i think most of the pins will will be placed around 3". If its different it says it on the box that it comes in. When you give your ball to the driller tell him/her what layout you want but dont be alarmed if it doesnt look EXACTLY like the diagram. It will be close but the driller just made some adjustments according to the pin placement.

Has your driller/proshop operator seen you bowl?
If so It would probably be good to ask what you should order. There really is very little that can be done to effect the ball dynamic... meaning overall hook. Short pins lengthen cause the ball to ever so slightly hook earlier than a longer pin.
So example: This is a generalization... (in this example of two No Mercy drilled exactly the same, Could be any ball.)
2-3" will start to hook at 38-39 feet
3-4" will start to hook at 39.5 to 41 feet.
Coverstock is 80% of the ball reaction. So you have 20% other things.
---Core probably 5-10% you can't really change a thing about that.
---Drilling probably 5-7% at the most, you can effect this.
---Pin lengthen another 3-6% another thing you can't change after you punched the ball up. This is a pre-purchase decision.
My opinion is that you can change the ball reaction more with sand paper or polish... these ball are like racecars you have to dail it in to you style.
Good luck hope this helps.
