View Full Version : jigsaw vs sting
I have seen the videos of both bals, and comparisons next to older hammers, but the info I am interested in is seeing both of them compared to each other. I am sure I will eventually buy both, but I am bowling nationals next week, and may only be able to get one. Or even someone telling me their differences as well.

The Jigsaw and the BWSting both have different looks dwn the lane. The Jigsaw will be clean in the front of the lane and it will be strong in the mid part of the lane. On the back end the Jigsaw will be very strong but depending on where on the lane you are playing , will be controlable. You could keep moving in deeper and the ball will make it back . The new cover and core of the Jigsaw is what makes this ball so amazing.
The Sting on the other hand seems like it requires alittle more friction so it can read the mid part of the lane. It is not as strong in the mids as the Jigsaw. The Sting will also be clean in the front part of the lane and it will be strong on the back end but not as skid/ flip and the Jigsaw. Both balls are strong but like I said they will have two different looks. This also depends on your style/speed/rev rate PAP and lane surface and condition.
My pap is 5 5/8 rt and 7/16 up. I am a tweener that is speed dominant mostly, and I have a tendency to stick to the strongest ball I have because of that.

If you are speed dominant and you are a tweener with a fair amount of revs, the Jigsaw would be the better choice out of the 2.

Wait a minute clean in the front, really isn't everything released to day clean up front?;) Slightly kidding.
When I read clean up front, think of stuff that gets down the lanes surther than average... from my understanding this is probably not the best description of the JigSaw. Now for the Sting, it would probably work... but it works for the whole line so far. Unless you added a bunch of surface.
What it all depend on is where is this ball gona fit in the arsenal/collection? Biggest Monster or between what?
What is your estimated Rev Rate and Ball Speed?

I concur with BubbaRay's description of the two products. To add a little to it: the Jigsaw, while not a "go-long" and flip ball, definitely clears the fronts well. One of my favorite descriptors (AND what I think makes a ball great on more difficult conditions) is that the ball "reads without hooking." The Jigsaw reads without hooking, providing great "control-ability" and consistent ball reaction as a pattern changes.
