I was watching my wife use this steam machine (tobi, the infomercial one) on her clothes. And was wondering if anyone used steam on their bowling balls to extract oil.
If so, how did you do it? But, if no one has done it, i would use one of my old balls to try. But what would be somethings i should watch out for and steps i should take?

Oh boy. First, grab the 'ol camcorder because I want to see this on YouTube. Or America's Funniest Bowling Videos.
Now back to reality....Temperature control will be a bitch. Too much steam in one place on the ball and it's Split City. Don't think it'll be covered under warranty either. Second problem will be acheiving a consistent ball temp thats high enough to make the oil wick out of the ball evenly. I'm getting this image of you chasing the oil around the ball. Third problem will be getting the steam deep enough into the pores of the ball to clean it. You DO know that a bowling ball is porous, right??? As in not a solid, unlike the kitchen counters your wife cleans.
I'm not seeing any upside here, unless you want to go through the time and money to invent a steam chamber to put the ball in. Most decent pro shops have the oven thingie and there's always the 5 gallon bucket and hot water for those of us who still like to do some things ourselves.
