I just bought a New Vicious pearl, how old is this ball and was $50.00 too much? Also, I am a lefty with alot of turn on the ball. This is my first Hammer and I would like to know if I should keep it or ditch it?!?

50.00 is a pretty good deal for a vicious pearl. Hell I'm selling my Hammer equipment from last season (Sling Blade, and 2 Vicious Attacks) in my shop for that price plus drilling. So if the ball is new in the box you got a good deal.

If it is a Vicious Reactive Pearl then you got a good deal. If we're talking about a Vicious Particle Pearl then you got a great deal. Which ever it is keep it and drill it long. Use it when the lanes are drying up.

With either of the Pearl Vicious you got a good deal.
If it is the purple reactive and you have "a lot of turn" you will really enjoy this ball. Drill it weak and this ball will be a saviour for you many times!!!
Then again, I can't find another one, you sure you want to keep it????

Vicious Reactive Pearl - awesome ball for the dry...it is my go-to-ball for the later frames.
I paid about $150 for mine about a year and a half ago, so if you got the purple one, I am jealous!!! :D

I use all hammer gear, and its always the first ball out of the bag. Had alot of big 700 series with this ball, especially when the lanes are on the drier side.
I don't have alot of hand, but have always get great carry from this ball.

This ball is going for about $80 new on the internet. It cleared the ABC in November 2002. You should keep this ball for medium to light oil conditions. If you have a strong hand, drill your ball about 4.5"-5.5" or more from PAP. But if you bowl on wetter conditions like medium, med-heavy, or heavy oil then you better drill it strong like between 3.5"-4.5" from PAP. However, you should own several balls in your arsenal (3-4) this ball should be second or third ball out for light oil. This ball goes long and has a hard snap to the pocket so it maybe hard to read. Practice, Practice, Practice! Don't get discourage, you'll get use to its path. :)

the reactive pearl is an AMAZING ball. i absolutely love mine, and have 2 279 games on it this calendar year, and i've only had it since last summer.
mine is drilled with the pin in the ring finger, CG in my grip center and the LMB in the thumb. great ball with great length and a nice hard arc, which is very controllable. mine is great on medium and light oil, and if the shot is really fried i just move a little left and turn up the speed. i payed $210 for mine new a year ago from my pro shop, 50 bucks is a steal.

I hope that you haven't ditched the ball... as a true Hammer Head, the Vicious Pearl was one of the first balls I owned. It is the source of much bowling pleasure, and numerous victories.
Drill it to go "long" ... and I'm sure with your style, the way you described it, it will surely suit your style. I had a customer drill it, and the very next day, won a major tournament here, shooting a 300 in the final match play. it's a great ball when the heads have dried up and you need a ball to send out to the gutter and hit the pocket with explosive power.
Good Luck!
