i want something that is going to outhook my brunswick rampage drilled extremely strong and not be as strong as and my 2nd demension mild drill im lokking into the raw hammer burn or the brunswick wild thing im just not sure i like the snappy of the burn tho what do u guys think?
Burn might be stronger than you will expect. ;)
Though it is a good choice, maybe even looking into the vibes would be a very good fit for you. (emerald/onyx <--- best option IMO )

you could probably take a psycho and drill it medium and have it fit. i mean from what ive seen the rampage wasnt really weak but the psycho would probably be a better fit and be a little easier to control on the back.

I have one thing to say Hammers are made in America takes all the choice of the two out of it for me

i mean if you go strong on burn and weak on second it would be REALLY close lol. but normal drill on burn should be fine to be honest.

I have a burn and they drilled it not necessarily weak, but drilled for a very good energy conserving layout. Like save for backend type thing i guess. It is stronger than my Cell pearl which is drilled to be archy and controllable but strong. I play different parts of the lanes but the Burn i move left about 3 boards in 1 frame just switching the two. Don't underestimate burn's strength.

Same here and just polish the thing if you're worried about it being snappy on the backend.

You could use the Burn with no problem. And likje Rowdy said, if it is too strong, just polish it

? if you polish it with a regular polish, it will make it even snappier on the back, if you want to tame the backend down you dull it so it bleeds energy off earlier and has a more controlled backend.

+1 that was my thought as well. Can someone please explain if i'm wrong here.

Well If you polish the ball enough, i assume it weakens the reaction.. :o

if you use a polish with a slip agent, it will decrease the backend, but there is A HUGE difference between regular polish, and a slip agent and you must specify that if your recommending that to someone.

Wrong-O. Polish moves the ball reaction farther downlane.
And special thanks to Slap for recommending that I polish my N'Sane LevRG. Finally got it done along with the huge hook BWS and the Global S75. The N'Sane finally lives up to it's name.:) First night out with it shot a 660 series scratch, and only had five practice shots with it before we started rolling for score.

THEN WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO CONTROL THE BACKEND REACTION IF IT PUSHES MORE OF THE REACTION TO THE BACKEND!!!

Well Rowdy I am not one to argue, but what im saying is, if someone reccommended (sp?) to add more polish to a polished ball, that it would just make it go longer and longer. This, I knew. What i didn't get is how it weakens it. Maybe just a little easier to get downlane and throw a smaller hook with more backend closer to the pins..?

1. Stop screaming. I may be old-ish,but I ain't deaf. Yet.
2. Where did I say it controls the backend reaction? I SAID it moves whatever reaction the ball will have a bit further downlane. Huge difference. As in the difference between a pocket hit and going brooklyn.

You assumed that polish weakens ball reaction, not me. I know better. Pain's theory of dulling the ball will only result in a ball that breaks and rolls out early. As in no energy left when it hits the pins. Watch the Acid video and look at the difference between the dull and polished versions to get an idea of what I'm saying. Both balls make the same move, but the polished one does it farther downlane.

If it want the ball to react earlier then you want a strong drill, if you want later reaction then you want a weak drill. Unless you want to use something near your axis.
Honestly a 4-5" PtoP with some surface would probably be good. Surface will let it roll up a earlier but since the Burn is pretty angular, it should be okay, to tame down the backend reaction.

What the hell are you rolling??? Every ball I've ever polished did not become snappy. Matter of fact, that was the reason they got polished in the first place.

then you are bowling on wierd lanes, ask most people here, if you polish a ball it stores more energy for the back, which makes it turn harder on the backend. regular polish, should not change boards covered, it should change WHERE it occurs. if its reducing backend your using a polish with a slip agent, which you must specify if someone's asking for advice. either a slip agent or one with an abrasive

100%... really. I've seen it both ways without a doubt. More often is does make the ball stronger in the backend with typical polish. Heck depending on the amount used can make a difference as well.
Polish is gonna delay reaction and general make a stronger more angular backend reaction. Really there are alot of varibale that dicate what your gonna get.
But I would agree snappy is very possible.

Pretty simple here.....
Sanded = Earlier tamer reaction
Regular Polish = Delayed reaction more backend

I have to agree with this. Adding polish to a ball makes it More agreesive on the back end 95% of the time. I have seen it though not as snappy with polish added with people who have a low rev rate

But I would agree snappy is very possible. ten pin, my age has nothing to do with it. He wont admit he's wrong, if you use something like factory finish from powerhosue, it should not change boards covered, but make the backend reaction more powerful, which makes it more snappy or stronger in the back than it was.

I think it's supposed to be a "family friendly" site, so that's why there isn't a lot of cussing. Unless you count hell, which is pretty low on the offensive word list, lol.
