View Full Version : I have no idea how I did this

Today in practice I was bowling with my grandpa (like we do every Tuesday) and somehow I ended up rolling it good. After a terrible 1st game (165), the 2nd game I threw my 2nd 300, with the last ball crossing over due to my extreme nervousness (whoever said it gets easier is obviously a lot better than me). I felt weird because people kept congratulating me but the entire time I was thinking "I'm not really any good at this". My grandpa missed my first one so he was really excited for me, which was cool. 3rd game I spent most of it talking to people I know at the bowling alley and all of the sudden everyone kinda stops talking to me.

I go to line up, look up "Oh man, I got the front 7" pure the next two for the front 9. Sit down while my grandpa strikes out, go up in the 10th and really wasn't nervous on the first one which I somehow managed to kick the 9 pin out with a messenger. On the 2nd shot I start thinking, and that's always a bad thing. Miss it off my hand and leave the bucket, manage to take the 4 pin off of the bucket for a 283. I feel kinda conflicted because it was my highest set ever (748) with 22 in a row (previous high was 14), but I was terrible with my spareball so I was a little disappointed. Glad I finally got one in front of the man who took me bowling every week when I was young and got me into the game. The ball used was the Jigsaw, the lanes were used so there was some carrydown and hook in the front of the lane. But it cleared the fronts better than my similarly drilled Hot Sauce Pearl, which really confused me because the Jigsaw has been earlier than my HSP on every other shot I've thrown it on.

Cliff notes: Somehow I miracle out 22 in a row, manage to throw a 283 because I'm messed up in the head. Jigsaw looks good and I don't know how to end a post.

Great games Dave. Story going around about the Jigsaw is that its one of those balls that takes 7-10 games to get its true reaction out of it. This would explain the difference in reaction your getting with it now.

Nice Dave, I'm sure it was an absolute thrill for your Grandpa to see first hand the awesome bowler he helped create. Congratulations on your, and enjoy having one of those sweet moments in life with people that are close to you!

Just enjoy it,Dave. Every time I've rolled a 300 I've been the only person in the house I knew.

Sounds like you both had a good time. Maybe next time you'll let him roll the 300. :D

Nice Shooting,
Appreciate the time with your grandparents while you still have them, I wish I could be fishing with mine this summer.

Yeah, he threw one last year against me.

Thanks everyone. I still think 283 is one of the weirdest scores I've seen bowled, so I got that going for me, lol.

great games and amazing story. BUT i think the weirdest score I heard of was at my house for saturdays on the PBAx league. This guy averages about 160 or so. Comes up on chameleon pattern and throws a 56, With a strike in the game! He probably took out the 6-9-10 group a lot and couldn't adjust i guess.. I have no idea but thats amazing..

56??? I'd take up golf if I shot a 56. Putt-putt golf.
