15# puts less stress on the body and carries just as well. Also if its lighter you could probably have more accuracy and control over it because you can hold it without putting too much muscle into it.. Hope that helps? Just my .02 cents.

Mfrs will say because of deflection, 15# will carry the best between 14,15 and 16 pounds. Also, if you look at the "numbers" 15# is a target weight range for optimum performance as well

I throw 14 right now because of just getting into 1 handed, I will be throwing 15lbs again soon hopefully.

Hopefully by the time you decide to up the weight I'll be able to afford some of your old equipment. ;)

I agree with Blue. Most companies put more focus on the 15# weights because of the fact that most pros use 15#s now. There are quite a few bowling balls where you will see a huge difference in the numbers for RG and Diff between 14, 15 and 16 pounds.

I still roll all 16# gear. I don't have a great reason why.

I throw 16. I never heard that 15 was better than 16 due to deflection. I do bet I could throw 15 faster than 16 for straight shots :P

I've thrown 15 since I was starting high school. Thought about moving up before but now since I've changed pretty much everything about how I roll the ball the last 2 years I'm concerned that if I do my rev rate will be way over my speed. Which is already kind of a problem.

I have always thrown 16 pounds but recently I have changed to 15 pounds. You will not loose any cary or continuation with 15 #'s compared to 16#'s. The 15 pounds produces as much hitting power and carry as their counter part 16 pounds. The 15's rev up more and are usually stronger than a 16 .

i agree, i have used both in the past but i prefer a 15 pounder because it seems i can throw it a little more consistant and it seems like i can get more revs with less effort with the 15 pounder.

I dropped from 16 to 15 about 6 months ago and have noticed a considerable increase in revs and consistency.

Yes a 15 will rev up more because of the Differential Value difference between the 16 and 15

+1

My trouble is some of my favorite balls are still 16. The Vibe, for example, is one ball that has a permanent home in the bag. Don't know what I'm going to do when I finally wear the cover off of it. Others I have at 16 are the Cell, Pain, and Doom; stuff that's too good to replace willy-nilly.

Some of mine are still 16 also. I use the 16 Anger with pin under drill and the BWP 16 when conditions call for it.

I carry three 15's and three 16's. And one 14. Plus a 15 and a 16 pound spare ball.

League night gets 2 of the 15's,one 16 and a 15lb spare ball. Tournament play gets 'em all.

I have a 16lb Sauce, Danger Zone and Noize. I normally only use them for tournaments but have been known to bring out the DZ on leagues occasionally if I need to reset my game it is the ultimate benchmark for me.
