I'm looking for a good driller that actually TAKES time to talk about your shot and what your ball wants to do for you instead of just grabbing your ball, taking your measurements and punching it up and saying "see ya". I have been to 3 different guys just to talk and they were all snotty and kind of stuck-up. I dont plan on getting another ball untill the BW Pearl but I need some help on a new "guy".

Anybody else experience this: stuck up driller who just wants to get paid and send you on your way. It burns the hell out of me.

Good drillers are hard to come by even in my area. I finally found one and believe me, it makes all the difference in the world....I can now bowl as my games as I want without any finger pain just because someone took the time and done the job right....

I own 14 balls and have had the same guy drill every one of them. If I shut my eyes, I wouldn't be able to tell which ball was which based on the grip. I consider myself very lucky and value his input. I often times will take a ball along with two others that I have in the same range and just ask for ideas on how to drill it "differently" from the others so I have a range of not only balls for different conditions but for different action. Good luck finding a guys that gives a rip so to speak....

I've run into the same problems here in Madison. I've had two balls mis drilled by two different Pro shops here and when you question them about it they give you attitude big time. I will never do business with either place even if I have to cut off my nose to spite my face.

Luckily I travel alot for work and found a Pro shop in a tiny 12 lane mom and pop bowling center up in Minneapolis. The guy there is awesome, spent hours with me until he was satisfied that everything was working. He put me on a lane and stood next to me and watched my release then would tweak things accordingly. Funny thing is I was hesitant at first because his shop was not the most updated place and his equipment wasn't all that fancy but I'll tell you what my ball fits like a glove now. Infact I just bowled a 212 tonight - my first 200 game.

You might have to travel out of Madison to get your ball drilled. I have talked to several people and they all tell me that there's not too many options other than the two main bowling centers.

Good Luck - If you ever go to Minneapolis - I could steer you in the right direction.

As I am bowling more and more I am actually starting to hang out with the guys who drill my hammers. Once you establish a relationship they are much more willing to work with you. My recommendation is to befriend these guys. 3 of the 5 guys that have drilled my balls are more into getting new equipment than most of us will ever be and that makes them great resources.;)

Hey I am near Detroit.. If you need a good proshop to go to there is one in Dearborn Heights.. Cherry Hill Lanes.. He is great man, helped me out tons and takes his time and makes sure you are completely happy.. His name is Todd Stuart, he has a 230 avg. and knows his stuff..

Have you been to Chip and Willie's over at Dreamlanes? I'm not recommending them, I'm just wondering if you've had any experience with them? I took a ball to Shwoleger's (sp) over on Grand Canyon, but I didn't much care for the two dudes who were working with me. I seemed to be wasting their time... even when they were "open" for business.
