What is most common in top weight/pin?I just got an acid with a top weight of 3-3.5 and a pin position of 2-3.Is this ok? And what does different pin positions and top weight do to affect the ball?

The few I can remember ordering online were right around those numbers you mentioned. If you are really in to drilling and layouts and know all about them, then you can order from some places and specify the pin and top weight to make sure you get what you want. If not, then you are usually just fine with whatever they send, your driller will use those numbers when laying out the ball.

The top weight number on your ball is perfect. That number let's the driller know they can go deep on the finger holes if they have to without worrying.
The pin number will help determine which layout will work best with that ball. 2 to 3 is fine,I order mine longer, but that's just what I prefer.

X2, I always go with a 3-4 inch pin, unless I want something really long, then I go with a 4-5 inch pin if I can find one.

Everything looks good one that one. Enjoy the new bowling ball.
Top Weight and Pin Position should help give the driller an idea of how the core is sits in the ball. (Symmetrical)
Shorter Pins are suppose to roll earlier, while Longer Pins should go longer. For Pin anything between 2-4" should be fine for most of the standard Symmetrical Layouts.
Top Weight I'd say try to keep between 2.5 and 3.5 oz should be good as well.
These are kinda ball parks deals.
For example on a RICO Layout they say it's best to use something with about PIN 1/2 of the Span Distance.

I have a great relationship with the guy that drills my balls and he will tell me what tw and pin placement I should get for my style of bowling. If the values you got works for you, then I have found that with Bowlingball.com that I can specify the tw and pin placement and they will ship exactly that. Good luck.
