What exactly does 'skid flip' mean in relation to the way a ball is drilled? Does a ball with a strong coverstock (i.e, Hammer Sting), drilled for medium skid/flip with aggressive backend (medium-oil conditions), generally perform best with an inside shot?

A skid/flip reaction on a ball means the ball is drilled with a Pin to PAP distance of 5- 5 1/2 inches from PAP. The mass bias in the strong position. This means the ball will get down the lane with length and when it hit's the breakpoint it will have a hard turn lft ( right handed ) to the pocket.
A skid/ flip layout usually does not work well with Med oil to Heavy oil. It usually will give you and over under look in terms of reaction.

Not unless you can really rev the thing up,(400+) and even then it'll be even money you get the ball where you want it to go. But an outside shot??? That baby will be money every time.
