Just got back from the PBA midwest Regional in Muscatine IA, Cheetah Pattern and although I brought 8 balls, I used only my Widow (4000) and Widow Pearl (4000 Polished)
Did not have to move a single board for 8 games....stood with feet stradling 5 board, and looked 4 at the arrows ball out to 1/2 - 1 and if I could pick up my spares, might of even cashed...1595 for 8 games, but was -107 after 4...160, 140, 190, 230, 230, 220,210, 200 rounded...From now on, screw bringing the other stuff, im just gonna put my hammers in my toolbox and go to work!!!!!

Brian, good bowling the second 4 games. By the sounds of it the pattern was the Cheetah Pattern. Keep working on those spares for the next Ragional and I am sure you with your Hammers will cash and make the finals.

Don't know which amazes me more, the fact you only used two balls or that there was a Regional in Muscatine,Iowa. When I lived in Lone Tree we always had to go to Dead Moines for anything remotely resembling a Regional.

The Midwest Region has been picking up and really spreading around the tourneys. I know by Ball Driller and Hammer Staff member is working to organize one at our house.

The previous Midwest stop was in Waterloo. I do not know what we need to do to get one here in Des Moines. :p

It was? For YEARS, there used to be the stop in Elkhorn, Nebraska for the Regionals. Did they move everything across the river now? Last time I bowled that regional, mind you, was 1998.

I lived in Lone Tree from 1991 to 1993 on a contract driving job. My kids thought we had moved to the dark side of the moon. They'd never seen a whole town surrounded by corn before. I barely recognized IC last time I was there. That mall is huge.

"Attending" and "working" are two different words. I know a guy who started "attending" The University of Florida back in 1976. He's still "working" there today. "Graduating" is a whole different deal......

The center there was a great host, 48 lanes...the original 12 wood and 36 new synthetics...Was quite surprised when we got there, did not know what to expect, but to see 48 lanes and be able to acommodate the juniors and seniors at the same time!!! Got around 170 for the Pro Am...they all came to see PDW...I will definatley be back ther next year!!

Glad to see that hasn't changed! PDW was who everyone wanted to see when I bowled the regional Pro-Ams back in Elkhorn. But that was at the time when McDowell, Snell, and Steelsmith were also huge. Hromek was just coming up as well.
Ahh... good times.

I do not remember a regional in Elkorn during the last year. There was supposed to be a regional then a PBA stop at the new Thunder Bowl (stadium) in Omaha but that place closed unexpectedly this summer. They moved the regional across the river to Council Bluffs and the PBA stop ws moved to Denver.

That would do it. Thanks.
By that time (February, 1998 to be exact), I moved to Vegas. Had the PBA, PWBA, and Senior tours all coming in, plus amateur and collegiate tournaments all over the place.
So the closest PBA stop is Denver again. ouch. Happen to know the alley? Last one I remembered over there was at Celebrity, but that was mid-80s.
