Man,sometimes this league stuff sucks. I just don't understand some people. Here's the deal....

I've been bowling in this league for ages. 4 man teams,100% of 220 handicap. I know every single guy by name. I know all thier kids and wives. I've held every league office there is in this league at one time or another. I'm last season's VP.

We had a team not renew this season due to the economy. We all understand that. A team asked two weeks ago if they could join our league. They had four guys and were ready to go. They understood that they were behind and wouldn't place all that well at the end of the season. They just wanted to bowl and have a place reserved in the league for next season. Fair enough since it's a League Rule that spots go to the previous years teams first. They took the bye teams lane assignment thier first week out. I'm on the next pair over. And then the trouble started.....

They had to bowl against a team of guys who give "Redneck" every one of it's bad meanings. They make me ashamed to be from The South. Every one of them is "Way Overserved" by halfway through the night. Usually they just get a little loud if they strike and everyone ignores them. Somehow it occurs to these clowns to inquire just what the new guys do for a living. I know what they do and I thought,"Here we go". The new guys inform them that they all are partners in a local hair salon. Oh boy. The defecation hit the rotary oscillator right about then.

The snide remarks started and our heroes were told to cool it. Like they got the hint. Let's just say that,"Fag" and "Queer" were two of the nicer insults hurled. Yes,the new guys are gay,but so what??? The new guys didn't even let it get to them, they just kept on rolling and opening up a major can of whoop-ass. After the evenings festivities were over,we pulled the idiots to the side and told them that they were on thin ice. We may as well have been talking to ourselves.

Tonight the moron's walk in and start unpacking. The new guys are on the next pair over and not paying these guys any attention. My team is bowling against the new guys. I'm just waiting for what I know is going to happen. Sure enough, right after the first pitcher is poured and before practice starts, here come the insults. And worse than last week. Way worse. Even I blushed at some of them and you've got to get really graphic to do that to me. I've had enough. And I've come prepared. I found the League officers and handed them four pieces of paper. One for each idiot. As a team captain I wanted them tossed from the league for violation of Rule 17b. The league Prez started to make excuses for the clowns until I informed him that such language as I heard is a violation of Federal Law and that doing nothing could open the league to a lawsuit. And that if he did indeed do nothing,I would be back next week with another piece of paper calling for his removal as league Prez.

The idiots are tossed in a unanimous vote and now I've got half the league hating me and the other half telling me I did the right thing. On the bright side,I don't have to pay to get my hair done anymore.....

Rowdy, I do not envie what you had to do, but I do applaud you for doing what needed to be done. People like that have no place in a league and you dealt with them in an appropriate manner. You did the right thing and in time the other league members will see that you did what was necessary for the league.

one question I have is this; if it was a unanimous vote, why do half hate you and the other half say you did the right thing? just curious.

Rowdy, You did good. Your league will be better off. A big pat on the back. If it was a unanimous vote, they have nothing to be mad about they voted them out also.

Now just dont do a Guppy and let them dye your hair pink

(Guppy showed up at my center to do a clinic for the kids one year with a pink mohawk. Yep. thats Guppy being Guppy)

The team captain vote was unanimous. All the league bowlers on the other hand.....

I say hell yeah!! People like this need a smack in the face once in awhile to realize they can't walk all over anyone they want! I'm extremely proud of how you handled this and would be proud to bowl in any league or tournament with you! These guys are the reason some people don't bowl because they see these people bowling in league acting like this and say they don't want any part of it. I don't blame them if I hadn't started bowling as a young teen in a youth league and was open bowling and had been contemplating bowling league and saw this happening I would say screw it and walk away.... Again I commend you!

BTW Thought it was gray... :D

Rowdy you did the right thing and I applaued you for what you did. No One and I mean NO ONE should be subject to that type of treatment like those new guy's have. If the vote was unanimous by the teasm Capt's. why does half the league hate you? I wonder if they were being subject to that treatment if they would have a different feeling. Do not worry about it. You did the right thing and life must go one. You can be Pres. in any of my leagues any day.

BubbaRay is giving Rowdy a standing ovation.

Wow, Rowdy. Nicely done. Hats off to you.

You did the right thing and the league will be better off because of it. The new guys sound like they want to be there for all the right reasons and the ex league members sound like the kind of people that bowling doesn't need.

Go for that Flock of Seagulls haircut, maybe in yellow and green, like a Burn or a Toxic.

Gray is the color that women get.

Grey is the color that men get. Or as I refer to it,"Very Blonde".

Good job. That garbage has no place in a bowling alley where people come to relax and have fun, not be more stressed out.

I agree with everyone else Rowdy, and appluad you for what you did. People like that are what make a lot of people hate bowling and quit leagues, they are the ones that give bowling a bad name. You did a great thing for that team and the rest of the league, I see no reason for anyone to hate you when it was unanimous.

Great job Rowdy.

The big deal was that someone else did the singing, all they did was dance and move their lips. The trouble started when they won a Grammy.

Back on point Rowdy, you did nothing wrong and have nothing to feel bad about.

Someone pulls that mess in my league, and "thrown out of the league" is the nicest thing that happens to them, you can be sure. I can take a great deal of things with a hefty grain o' salt, but that kind of intolerance is unacceptable no matter where you are. If anyone in your league "hates" you for doing what was absolutely necessary, then kindly invite them to quit. Anyone who doesn't condemn that horrible behavior on the spot might as well have joined in themselves.

Good on you, Rowdy. You did the right thing, and I hope you never doubt that.

Only because their tape track skipped while doing "girl you know it's true", over and over again.

I bet he knows the group and the song, probably plays it for tebow every saturday.

You did the best thing Rowdy, by getting rid of a bunch of racist jackasses you have made it so that this new group along with the other teams, don't have to deal with the weekly drama of gay bashing. Plus, this new group might stick with the league and would be a big improvement compared to the racist one, improving the quality of the league overall.

You shouldn't feel terrible for doing the right thing, and I'll bet that Tink is quite proud of you for doing what had to be done when others wouldn't at that moment.

Just keep your head up Rowdy, besides if you ever need a new league, you can always bowl with me in Sin City.
