Had an original BW, loved the ball. But my 12 year old, who proved he could handle a 15 pounder ended up talking me out of it. (he's raised his average to 188 from 150 with it).

So, I went to Track (a 930T) and that thing just was too much ball for me. No matter what combination of surface I put on that ball, I wasn't happy. So I sold that and resurfaced my old Freak-A-Zoid. It's been working great so far.

But I've always loved the hammer line and want to get another one. I'd like to have an angular ball to compliment the FAZ (which is a controlled hook), to get a different reaction.

I can throw it at any speed; my ball track is small. I bowl on medium-oil synthetics which changes by the end of the first game and the carry down is pretty good.

The pro suggested the Burn. I'm not so sure.

Also, does anyone have experience from changing to a 14# from a 15, and how much of a difference in carry did it make?

thanks...

Love my Burn, but I bowl on wood. A good Pro-Shop operator can drill the ball to match the house conditions and the bowler.

if you really loved your original black widow then get a full swing

yeah- the guy I sold my 930T to also got a full swing. I do admit I liked the reaction a lot. It certainly hit better than the Track ball.

The Full Swing is a good ball. Rolled on a heavy shot at a Demo.

The Psycho and Burn are good choice from Hammer. The new Raw Hammer Jacked might be your best option if you can wait for the reviews. It has the same coverstock from the Black Widow. The surface is at 1000, but you could later that to fit the conditions if needed.

tomyo10 I switched from 16 to 14 and everyone still thinks that I am throwing 16. I find no difference between the two weights except my arm doesn't get tired with the 14.

Are you a high-rev bowler, full roller, etc?

The line I'd like to play with a 14 lb angular ball would be far left, 18 board to about 5. I just wonder about the carry part with a lighter ball.
