In the day, I had a white dot when I was first learning to bowl, so I guess I'd have to say Columbia 300. But is there really another ball maker? :)

Columbia 300...the ONLY other ball that isn't a Hammer in my arsenal is a Messenger Ti. Pretty good ball on the dry, but not as good as my Sledgehammer! ;)

I have to admit the only other ball in my arsenal other than a Hammer was a Columbia Blue Dot, for spares, until I got my Big Blue Spare. I'm sorry Hammer, forgive me for I have sinned.

I just bought my first Hammer ball, BIG BLUE PEARL, and it is a decent ball BUT there are a lot more companies out there. I have a Storm ERASER BLAZE that is a very good ball and a X-FACTOR Duece that is an alright. I also own an Ebonite V2 Strong which is my favorite ball. I have shot numerous 250 games with it, my high being 299 and a V2 Clean that is also a great ball. I am not putting down Hammer equipment but there are a lot of good bowling balls out there made by other companies.

Dear Ball Buster299 (http://hammerbowling.com/hammertalk/member.php?u=62) : :p
Big Blue Pearl is not the ball to cut your teeth on for Hammer products. It is for a predictable/controllable hook pattern. If you are an advanced bowler you will probably not be satisfied with it. This forum is biased in the sense that we like Hammer the best. This poll and thread is for fun, for us to say if Hammer didn't exist what would we bowl with. By the way, Ebonite, your favorite manufacturer owns Hammer Bowling, but tries to stay out of its' way.
pba6285 and BigDog are just being silly when they say "Somebody else makes bowling balls?" You are free to make your oppinions known, but don't slam anyone for theirs, especially on the subject of Hammer Bowling by HammerHeads on the Hammertalk bulletin board....that's just asking for it.:D

hammer will always be number 1 in my bag. my pearl reactive vicious and my attack make a great combo, but my trauma ER from storm is 3 and a half years old, has thousands of games on it, has a cracked pin and STILL wont quit. great ball, but not as good as my pearl vicious...

i absolutly hate columbias reactive resin balls, and their particles are ok. they just don't hook with my speed. Ebonite are awesome second choide after hammer, i have the orginal vortex, not the v2s the original. the vortex rose my average 40 pins when i was bowling with a columbia throttleR. 160 then pow 199 200 average. but hammer is still the best ball out there.
what about dyno/thane that poll isn't accurate.

I started with an Ebonite Gyro, then went to a Columbia Yellow Dot. From there, my buddy turned pro and I was getting his old Storm balls. I have an original Red Hammer which is just a solid ball. I have heard a lot of people rip Storm for their coverstocks not lasting long, but I have at least a 1000 games on an Electrical Storm and and El Nino X-it, and they are still going strong.........But I have about 2000 on the Red Hammer, and it is fantastic!! All these companies make decent balls though. But this poll is like anything else. If your a Chevy man, Ford sucks and vice versa. There is no 2nd.

I am going off the board and my choice is Dynothane. The Thing line is very good and the newer Element AU79 is a real nice ball. The Pearl Vendetta is also a nice choice. I like the new soaker coverstock as well.

"SAW BLADE / BLADE REACTIVE / HI-REV 3D OFFSET"
THE ONLY SET OF BALLS A MAN NEEDS
i was just checking it out and finally saw that someone else is intelligent. all you guys voted for ebonite for your second fav ball maker, do you guys realze that ebonite makes the hammer line. everyone says its owned by ebo, but in reality, ebo makes the hammer line, they just keep the hammer name. a lot of balls by hammer lately are losing they're classic touch. the blade series is the best thing since the 3D in my opinion. i didnt care for the vicious or the diesel line. and the deal line is gettin outta hand. blade is for that versatile, accurate, and strong through the pocket bowler. i recommend the blade series to any bowler who wishes to only go UP with their game.
