Last week I shot a 290. Since that was over 100 pins over my average, and since I strung 11 stikes together, I'm told I'm up for some kind of award. When I was filling out the paperwork, I was asked for my USBC membership number. As I looked through my wallet, it dawned on my that I never received it in the mail. I asked my league secretary and he had no clue. Today, I went to the USBC website and only found last year's information...nothing for the 2006-2007 season. Does this mean it won't count...other than to me? I guess I'll get over that, since I hope to do it again sometime, but it was, for me anyway, a big thing. I've emailed USBC to see what, if anything, they can do. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

That sucks! I got my card mailed to me in about three weeks. I hope they are able to work something out for you.

My doubles partner is the Local Association Secretary, if anyone knows he would. Would like to think that if your league is USBC sanctioned and you paid your assoc due, you would be covered. Don't by chance have your temp card tucked away somewhere?
Great going on 11 in a row. Is this with the ball you gave it's first bath to? Must have worked.

I'm going to search my old and new bag for the temp card, but I don't even remember getting that. I turned the form in to our league secretary for his signature, but I don't think I ever got it back. I always come into league 4 to 5 weeks late because I run a golf league which overlaps, so I could see how my stuff would get lost. I've emailed USBC and will talk to the bwoling alley tonight to see if there's anything they can do.
Yes, I got the 11 in a row with my BW...the ball I cleaned this past weekend. We'll see how that worked tonight. Maybe it'll help me get 12 in the same game (actually had 14 in a row last week).

good job on the 290. I think that once you're assigned a USBC member number, they can look up your info. So even if you found last year on their site, I think the card number should be the same. Can someone clarify if this is correct or not.

Yeah it's a watch, called the Century Award. Had a similar fight for my first one.

My house is saying that they never received my membership fee. I found in in my checkbook register and it's marked in our team envelope (used to collect our weekly league fee). I need to bring in either a cancelled check or a copy of my bank statement to prove I paid it. Geez!!!!

I emailed USBC and they spoke to my local association point of contact. My membership is processed and on its way to me. Whew. Mess with me, I go right to the top! :D I know I'm making way too big a deal over this, but hey, it's the first time I qualified for something...lol.

I dont blame you for making a fuss about this... if I was you I would be demanding answers from somebody!my husband has one of those awards for 11 in a row... his 297 game... first ball he threw the next game went right in the gutter... lol he was so shaken up over it. great job on your 290 and glad everything is going to work out for you.

Good for you, I want all the awards I can get my hands on so when I am to old to do it I can look back and say "See, I was pretty good at one time".:D

Yep! You earned it. Keep up the good bowling. Heck you even paid for it.
I had to fight for a Clean 30 Patch and the one of my Century Award watches.

It's funny...sorta...you earn the awards, then you have to fight to get them. I actually qualified for a Century Award a couple years ago, but didn't know enough to inquire about it. Now I know, thanks to you guys and the USBC website. The folks running my league are going to get tired of me.

Make sure they do get tired of dealing with you. This way, they won't do this to you again....The one thing about our sport, you earn everything that's hanging on the wall. Don't let anything take that away from you. Good luck in your on-going quest.....
