I would say take a look at the vibe series. They would probably be the next step under the toxic.....

Look at the Hammer tech site. For hookability the Toxic is right up there around 25-27 out of 30. The Vibe is in the 20-21 range. For my money I might try the Pure at 10-12 range.
Once a line is burnt out I am not sure I trust any ball to retrace those steps. Burnt out line to me means line is kind of squirrelly. I want area when I bowl. Meaning I like to be able to throw within a couple of boards either side of my target. When like is squirrelly you can throw what feels and looks like great shot and come in high then move a board right and come in too light.
My idea of arsenal is getting balls that play different places on the lane. I.e., one ball that really covers a lot of boards (NM); one ball that covers 6-8 less boards (BW/Toxic) and one ball that allows to play less than that (_?__).

I agree with the pure. It would be good for the dry. I might just look into one for myself.....

Let's say you get a weaker ball, say the Vibe or Pure. Would you get them drilled to go long? If you did might they be too little ball and just stay in your bag? It is question I want to know answer to because I do believe I am going to get a Pure.
BTW: One thing that I am trying to develop but am not that great at yet is this:
Lets say your target is 10 and after game or so it is not working. Move a couple of boards left with feet and try to cross 12-13 at arrows at an angle while trying to cross 10 at the final set of marks down the lane. Theoretically, 10 is still the target but at a different part on the lane. The lanes I play are med./light oil from 8-8 for lets say 42 feet. So, If 10 is burnt out at around the arrows, it might be cool another 10 feet or so out. The break point is going to be 8-12 somewhere down the lane just play around with where your ball hits that area.

I have a Pure and I LOVE IT for this reason!! I have all my balls drilled the same...basically drilling #1 on tech sheet for the No Mercy...and just use different balls for the reaction I want. Some like to use the same ball just get a couple of them and drill them different. You just about definately need a Vibe or a Pure for the reason you state. Steve

PAIN, dulled down between 500-1000. Sounds like you want less back end snap and more cutting power, some grab basically. My best game with this ball was on a modified sport shot after six games. Used gray scotch brite pad and energizer to get a surface I like before I started.
Does moving right not help? Try making a parallel move like 3 and 3 to the right or 5 and 5. If you wanted to move left move 2-3 left with feet and 1-2 boards with target and you might have to up ball speed a touch.

If you are having carry down issues, you probably really need a ball will grab in the oil, more arching than skid flip. Something duller.
