Hi All,
I did a lot of research both on the Hammer web site and also other web sites and finally decided to purchase a Black Widow. On the Buddiesproshop.com site, there are videos of various balls and the drill patterns that they use. I like to stand just left of center on the approach, throw between the 2nd and 3rd arrow, have the ball skid then turn hard on the backend. The video of the Black widow shows exactly what I described with the same bowling style.
The drill pattern shown is:
pin 4 3/8" from PAP
PAP 4 3/4"
Mass Bias 4" from PAP
Ring finger hole 3" deep
I had my local pro shop drill as described (owner does the drilling and is a regional PBA member) with the exception of the ring finger...it's only 2" deep. I'm not getting the strong backend reaction as shown in the video.
Any suggestions?

Where is the pin in comparison to fingers? I.e., pin to right of fingers, pin between and below fingers. Where is CG in comparison to pin I.e., in the middle of center line, directly below pin, out the left or right?

Three things make my ball not hook correctly:

1) When I lift up with my body at the line;
2) When I toss the ball more than lets say 5 feet over the line before it hits lane for the first time;
3) When I Gumby with my back foot. Back foot should pivot behind and to side rather than ending up flying up in the air, or flailing about.:eek:

The pin is above and slightly right of the fingers. The CG is below and slightly left of the grip center line.
Thanks for replying!

Dont forget about lane conditions. This ball will not make the hard move your expecting unless it encounters a lower volume of oil or dry lane. In the oil or carrydown, this ball will not make the magical turn that people expect.

There is also the possibility that the person throwing the ball in the video has much more hand than you

I agree. No two people can throw the ball the same. That being said, the BW is a very versatile ball and can perform on a variety of conditions. What was shown in the video is fresh house conditions, a player with a lot of revs, and only the perfect shots were shown. Remember: to make the correct ball choice, consider what conditions you have, how you like to play, and pick a drilling on that ball that will work with your "A" game.....

Take a little speed off and see what happens. Talk to and show your PBA proshop guy....

Tune the surface down with Extender. Out of the box i had the same issues with my Widow and just touched it with Extender. I now have the store and flip I think you are looking for. Just a thought.
