The BIG BLUE is for medium to medium-heavy; note the hyphen. Medium-heavy is not the same as Heavy. BIG BLUE is for a consistant, smooth, AND controlable hook. The Differential is only 0.026, which is fairly low=small hook/flare potential.
Thus the pearlized version is made to go even longer before it moves to the pocket. I don't suggest you use the BIG BLUE PEARL for anything more than medium oil, especially if you have it drilled weak/long.
But you can pick up more revvs and or hook with the following:
1. Slow down your ball speed by holding the ball lower in your starting approach. Like around your belt/waist area.
2. Cock your wrist in the beginning of your approach.
3. Get your thumb out asap, by the time ball pases your ankle. Use the power of your ring finger instead of middle finger to generate more revvs.
4. Have the ball redrilled in a stronger layout. Or add a balance hole about 3.375" below the PAP vertical axis line. The bigger the hole the earlier the turn.
5. Move your feet and target right to compensate for the oil (assuming your a righty, if lefty move left.)
6. Change the coverstock surface...resurface the ball down to about 600 grit. If it hooks too much go to about 800...not enough go down to 400 grit.

when I was looking at the big blue vs big blue pearl, my proshop said go with the big blue for heavier oils, the polished pearl is just that polished which is great on heavier oils.

For a straight up, deep inside line (your typical house shot) the Big Blue Pearl rocks. It is designed not to hook too much, even when cranked. I personally love the ball!!! :D

My question for you is, how is it drilled? Where is the Mass Bias in relation to your thumb hole? Pin placement?
