Being a hammer user for most of my years bowling. Bowling for 5 years. fitst ball I had was a Burandy hammer which was the first ball I. Then went to the Diesel Reactive which was so so. I ball on the second league at the center so the lane are medium-to dry. I bowl on the second arrows medium speed, with a big hook. Suggestion please

First off, all serious players should get an arsenal with at least four balls. I know that is expensive, but you don't have to get them all at once. Some general suggestions are: (try getting different RGs and Diffs, layouts, and surfaces)
1. Oily-lane ball. (particle, dull surface, strong layout)
2. Benchmark ball. (first out of bag, made for medium+ oil, use to gage lane)
3. Dry-lane ball. (pearlized, higher grit on surface, weaker layout-long)
4. Spare ball. (polyester or weak urethane)
That being said, I suggest the Sling Blade or the Switch Blade. The Sling Blade is for Light oil and the Switch is for Medium-Light oil. If this is a ball for a specific condition and not your main ball then go with the Sling if you plan on using it as your go to ball then go with the Switch. In either case take the surface to about 800-1000 grit. Have it drilled with PIN between 4.5"-4.875" from your PAP. CG at label unless you want a balance hole, which I suggest you don't get. If you get alot of revvs (hand) and with your medium speed you may want an even weaker layout of about 5"-5.5". If the ball hooks too much raise the surface grit (polish up), too little hook, then dull the ball up with lower grit. Don't be afraid to ask your proshop guy what he thinks, give him all the info on you and the house conditions you can. Bring in your current ball for him to inspect.
Tell us what you do and what are the results. Good Luck.
