Has anyone used this? I have a pair of bowling shoes that I love but they don't have interchangable soles and the sole is getting pretty worn. I'm thinking of trying this thing.

Well, On my old shoes(just bought a pair of Dexter Turbo II Tan)-my old ones were like dexter ricky's or something and they didn't have interchangable soles so i uses Easy Slide by Master, but if that is what ur pro shop carries try it-as I always say i'll try most anything once!;)

I use easy slide at the moment but I'm getting tired of having to reapply it after every 2nd frame or so.:(

I have a pair of Linds Classics (about 14 yrs old) Just had the slide sole redone by a local cobbler. Cost me a whole 9.50!! He told me the way these shoes look, I could probably have it done one or two more times. But I think they'll get replaced before then.

My wife uses Linds Classics. The older ones probably just like what you have only the women's version. She loves them to death and says they are the most comfortable shoes she owns. But then again with all the high heels she wears that's probably pretty easy.:p

They are very comfortable. They are like your favorite flannel shirt. (mine are classic black)

Hers are cream and blue. She said they are some of the last ones made before the company started mass producing in Mexico.

Yeah, a buddy had a pair from mexico and they fell apart in less than a year. He called them and they replaced them. I also heard that they are or already have moved production back to the states.

Cool, I'll have to check that out.

I know a few people who use this stuff. I for one don't. Most times all my shoes need is a good stiff brushing to bring the sole back to life.

At nationals, you are not even allowed to use Easy Slide or such because of the possibility of getting some of it on the floor and other people getting it on their shoes.

One trick you can use if your sliding to little/ too much is adjust how tight you have your shoes tied. If you sticking, tie them a little tighter. Slipping, loosen them up a bit. May seem strange, but it does work.

Again, if you use this stuff, be careful. The last thing you need is to cause someone to have an accident because they stepped in it.

Just be careful applying that to your shoe's.... It can really effect other bowlers, had team mates about bit it one night... really gummed up my slide sole and heal, both are the red leather from Dexter, cost is around 15-17 sole and heel 11-13 I think. I brushed them out and washed them up.

This is from the USBC rule book.
Approaches Must Not Be Defaced
Rule 12. The application of any foreign substance on any part of the approach that detracts from the possibility of other players having normal conditions is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to talcum powder, pumice and resin on shoes, and/or soft rubber soles or heels that rub off on the approach.

This Tru-Slide is actually a replacement sole for shoes without interchangable capabilities. Click the link to get a better idea.

The easiest thing to do would be to grab one of these from your Local ProShop or from an online dealer. Should cost anywhere from 8- 10 bucks. It's called the Ebonite Shoe slider.

My response was to you using easy slide, not tru-slide. Easy slide is not suppose to go on the bottom of your shoes. Was all I was trying to say. There is also a telfon pad, that works the same, as tru-slide pad.

Then what is it for? It's always been billed as the "Original Shoe Sole Conditioner".

Look at any site that sells it and has a description.

Not trying to be an ass here at all, I just don't know why Easy Slide has gotten such a bad reputation. Used properly it can save a knee. I'm not saying to put so much on that your shoe puffs with powder every step you take.

By the way, the Tru-Slide pad is one of the teflon pads that you mentioned.

Thanks for the advice though. I think I'm going to try one of these tru-slides and I'll let you know how it works out.
