Could someone please tell me what conditions this ball is drilled for? I want to use it for mainly ten pins and light lane conditions. If it is drilled for that condition I would just have to get the thumb plugged and redrilled and just put new grips in the fingers. Here are three links to three different photos of the ball.

My guess is Label leverage, for backend. Not that this is going to be a flip ball by todays standards. Guess picture #1 shows the pin being black??? The Fab target is the CG... the dot.

I'll probably just get it drilled like my old 14lb one.

this is probably a reaallly dumb question. but im not an expert... i noticed in your pics you have what i can only assume is you're name engraved on all the balls? Can i have that done at a pro shop? or is that custom from factory or something? like i said.. i know its dumb but i think its kinda cool

Proshop.. if you plan on getting a few balls, most people dont engrave name on ball.

cool, is it expensive? that the reason people usually dont do it?
Both the Black Hammers look like they have some positive side weight... the centre of the fab logo "should" be the centre of the weight block, so the drilling was done in a way to hook the ball in for a right hander. I can't tell you what this drilling is officially called.

Ok thanks. Yes you can get your name ingraved in the ball for free, but I stopped doing that eversince I got the Action because I think having your name on a bowling ball is kinda childish.

the ball is drilled for a right hander, smooth arc trajectory (for me). i would guess the positive side weight is 1/2 to 7/8 oz and it doesn't appear to have any finger weight. i use a black faball hammer highly polished for corner pins, it has 1/2 positive and max finger for length. it will also cover some boards on dry conditions. generally i leave it home and carry my tuff.

Definately not childish. I ALWAYS get a nickname put on the ball because of 2 reasons. 1. If I have 2 of the same balls, I know which one is which. 2. At tournaments someone may have the same ball with a similar layout and the same color grips, now you know which one is yours.
I know alot of you may ridicule me for those reasons but in the heat of the moment anything could happen.

However, once I become a PBA legend... my ball will be worth ALOT, especially with my name on it, and the signature... what color should i sign my black widow in? White?

The best drillings for old hammers were axis leverage and Stacked Leverage
Axis Leverage Drillings you put the Center of Gravity on the PAP and pin toward the ring finger. Most drillers would put the weighthole right through the "Target" I liked to compubalance my balls, so my weight hole would be some place else. What was great is you could really see if you thew the ball well because the weight hole or target would remain steady as it went down the lane. Smooth Even arcing ball. No Flare.
Stacked levarage a 3 3/8 x 3 3/8 drill I shot my first 300 with a Red Hammer drilled this way. This was the first ball I owned with noticable track flare. The thing was no one knew what track flare was back then.

If I'm not mistaken USBC doesn't allow balls with names engraved other than what the ball comes with. Agian I could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere.
