Well, a full week has gone by since I've started eating healthier and exercising.
Last week, I bowled a 604 in my league after a decent outing as a sub (594).
Tonight, I subbed (first shift) and didn't do great, but 523 isn't the worst series I posted.
Then came the Men's League (highly competitive in comparison to the mixed league).
I bowled 205, 225, 214 for a 644 series. It was my first pure 600 series in which all three games were over 200 since my return to bowling. I missed my high of 647 by 3 pins, but overall, I bowled better.
Lanes in first shift were Exon Valdez and seemed like the backends weren't as clean as normal, so I struggled a bit to find my line and never really got on track.
Second shift, got a better pair of lanes that were broken down nice for me. I kept the PAIN out all night and threw a lot of strikes and only missed a couple of spares for the night, including picking up a 5-7 in the last game.
Halfway through game 3, the PAIN was too much, so I switched to the VIBE (figured the TOXIC would be too much at that point). I immediately found my line with the Vibe and finished strong.
I love bowling. :D
BTW, our team had two blinds, and the other team decided to have a career night vs. us, so we got our butts kicked despite Jim and I bowling well above our averages.
On a brighter note, I won the poker game twice.:D

Nice work. When all games of series are above 200 you know you are giving opponents PAIN.

I feel your pain grayfin. We went in to our sunday league and the team we bowled against had prebowled. One of their bowlers has a 118 average and bowled a 179, 195 and a 191. The entire team bowled way above their averages so me and my buddy bowling 600's did absolutely no good.

Doesn't it make you want to choke somebody? I bowled against a team last week that had one woman with a 95 avg. A 95! She bowled a 171 game! If it hadn't been for that we would have won all of the games last week. Thanks to her, we lost the last game by 22 pins.:( I know, she bowled well so they deserved to get at least 1 game but, I hate to give it up. We've moved from 16th place in an 18 team league up to 4th. Oh well I'll end the rant here.
Great job grayfin! I'm still searching for my first night of solid 200 plus scores! Here's hoping you do it again next time!:D

Well, a full week has gone by since I've started eating healthier and exercising.
I can't tell you how much that does for you. Despite my wife's constant objection that bowling is not exercise:D it is still a fact that you use LOTS of muscles and joints, etc that will do a better job for you and your game with proper exercise.
I got a bowflex for christmas, and my first series after using it routinely was my first career 600. And I have noticed that my shot is more precise and powerful than ever before.

Thanks for the encouragement and I'm sure your solid 600 series will come. One day, you'll just be in the zone and your confidence will rise to where you just do it. (Wow, I sound like a Nike commercial :D).
As far as wanting to choke somebody, I know you are probably exaggerating, but honestly, I'd rather everyone bowl good and your team just bowls better. It was fun regardless and every game came down to the wire. They had all four bowlers to our two and they kept tearing it up in the 9th and 10th frame.
BTW, I finished the first two games with nothing less than a turkey.

I would never really choke somebody for bowling better than me. We were also bowling with 2 blinds last week. We have to every other week right now.:(

Lol I love the choke somebody statement, kinda sounds like something I would say(but, never do.. Well, maybe..)
You know what happened to me in my league?? A 161 bowler threw a 300, lol. C'MON how do you expect us to compete?? Well I bowled a 250 and my buddy who only averages 137 threw a 197, so we won, lol.. Then the bowler didn't even get his average the next 2 games..
I think if you throw a 300 in one of your games you should be able to hit 700 no problem, lol..

Well, I'm subbing tonight. I'll need a 600 series because I'm subbing for a guy with a 193 average. I haven't subbed in this league yet, and I don't have an average on the books from last year, so I'll be establishing.
I want to tear it up bad since I'm on travel next week and won't be able to take my gear with me.

So, I subbed tonight. Wow, it's funny how many of the same people bowl in the various leagues.
Anyhow, I didn't get the 600 series, but came close and bowled 2 pins above the guy's average that I subbed for, so it was a decent night.
Started with a clean game 202. Tried the TOXIC because in practice I was smokin' with it. Once the first game started either the lanes changed or I did. Not many strikes and couldn't seem to find a good line. Picked up all of my spares though, so that was good.
Second game, opened in the third, but threw a 5 bagger only to open in the 10th, but finished with a 210. Used the PAIN and temporarily found the line.
Third game, couldn't get it going. Two early high-hit splits, resulting in two opens. Struggled all game, finished with a 170.
582, averaged 194 (was establishing in this league).
All in all, a decent night, but slightly disappointed because I felt that I should have had a 600 series.
