Alright, well I get to my new driller yesterday (supposed to be one of the best in the state) and he is sick. =( But his partnet is there, and I ask him, if he knows how to drill. He replies, "Well.... I have been drilling longer than Jamie (the guy who was supposed to do it) and I pretty much taught him everything, so if that works for ya... then we can get it done today." Alright, sounds good enough for me.

He watches me shoot a couple of shots, and gives me a couple tips which I follow and soon start to drill the hole. Well he says, "Your release is great, and your hand position is great too, I don't understand why your revs are so low..." He takes my ball into the proshop and measures it out, and says, "Ah, that's why your revs are so slow...your finger tips are not drilled staight into the ball like most people, they are actually tilted out at 1/4, that's strange. So he told me, I will bring you back to 1/8, but i wouldn't reccommend coming all the way back yet, it will hurt your fingers for a while just coming back a little. So of course I went with it, with the idea of getting more revs. (This is Part1 of 2) I have to go to another class and will post aditionally here in a little while.

I had to have my balls drilled 5/8 out. My fingers don't bend. If I have the ball drilled "normal" very intense pain all the way up to my elbow. And it would last for days. It sucked!!!! But like your guy said, it takes away a ton of rev's. Prolly why I play the outsides to give the ball time to turn.

All my balls are drilled the same way for the same reason. It took away some revs at first, but after I use to the feel, I still have pretty decent revs.

I never asked my ball drillers about thumb pitch, but discovered something interesting when I had my BW drilled. I brought in two balls for comparison, one my current first ball out of the bag, and a well-worn Messenger Ti. I said that I really liked the way the Messenger fit, but had trouble transitioning between it and my other balls, in terms of the release. My driller measured the thumb pitch and announced that the Messenger was drilled reverse pitch, ie, for a lefthander, although I am righthanded. The other ball was drilled standard pitch.

I have always had some issues getting my thumb out cleanly with the other balls, so I had the Widow drilled with a neutral thumb pitch, and I now have tons of confidence in how I release the ball -- no hanging up.

I read somewhere that Norm Duke has his balls drilled with a complete neutral finger and thumb pitch.

Actually, reverse pitch is the angle of the thumb as it is in the ball (ie. top of thumb closer to palm or farther away. The reason why your messenger was easier off your thumb than any other ball was because the reverse pitch was more than your other balls

Kind of funny, my ring finger is not as flexible as it once was, so we decided to pitch out my fingers. Been bowling awesome, revs might be up! Before the change was made been playing around 9-12 at arrows, very little swing if any... been playing 15-8 last month.

Have one of my doctors checking around for a hand doctor for me. Told him I want the best. Said he was gonna ask some Ortho guys who they would want to work on their hand. Take Multi-vitamin and 3 Ibprophen.

Here are my stats for that period.
