Which Hammer ball is the greatest ever ?

I would go with blue hammer (urethane). I still have mine today its very versatile. Re-surface it and it comes up like a brand new ball. Talk about value for money :D

I would say it is a toss- up between the Original Blue Hammer or the Original Red Hammer.

Shot my first 300 with the Red back in 1990.

I'd say former ball of the year........3-D Offset Blazing Violet. I still carry it in my arsenal along with the ever enduring Burgundy Hammer as my spare ball or fried lane conditions. :o

Mine has to be the Red Reactive Hammer.:) My average soared from a 170 to a 197 in source of two seasons. This was on wood lanes, and short oil. I got my 2 700+ series 741, and 711, and several 270+ games over the years.:D It still works fairly well (185-187 average) on synthetic lanes, but it does not like heavier oil. :(

I'm, thinking it might be time to invest in a new ball....say a Big Block Diesel. :D

my Dad had the old school Red Urethane....awesome ball, he kicked ass with that ball

teh best would have to be teh sling balde i just love mine teh way it is drilled works on anything but oil. and this is 2 years old and still carrys awsoem. i also liek the 3d pearl. that ball carves teh lanes and always works for me. i like teh power diesel aswell.

The Sledgehammer IMHO!!! "Old Reliable" I like to call it, as it is my most consitant ball in my bag (Big Blue, Power Deisel, Vicious Reactive Pearl) in all conditions.

I'd have to go with either the JackHammer, or the Reaper. Reaper is great to play up the boards with, which I can't do too often.

Big blue pearl would be my pick for best hammer ball. I shot my first 800 in my life with it this year and my sixth 300 with it. I also took it to ABC in reno this year and finished 8th in doubles with it with my dad. I finished 24th in all events with it. It is one of the best balls i have ever owned maybe the best i have ever owned.

Well I think I have had just about every thing, Black,Blue, Red, Burgundy, Red pearl, 3D, 3d offsett on and on the list goes.. The one I feel like was the best was the 3D offset. Loved almost every hammer I had but it seemed that the offset had better carry and was more forgiving. I just hope this new Big Blue Pearl is as good a ball as I hope it will be.

i think i might have to go with The Deal as the best hammer ball ever. this ball hits like a ton of bricks and is very good with different surface adjustments. this one gets my vote

I have had a blue hammer, a 3d blazing violet offset, a black 2001, and I just bought a big blue/big blue spare combo. I would have to say my favorite ball was the original blue hammer(urethane). In it day it was a great ball, it didn't have all high tech cores and covers but was a very good ball. That is what helped me choose my newest ball.

i personally like all the blades my favorite is the blade reative. since none of you mentioned them i thought i had too. the blade reative hooks more than my vicious attack. they are also drilled the same way. thats one of the reasons i don't listen to some of the ratings; I think some of them are biased. i alway talk to people who've tried them out before buying one.

Of the most recent Hammer balls, the original Vicious reactive was one of the best ever. BUT from the old school, the 3-D Tour was the most over looked balls (black with green pin). I believe they only released this ball for one season but everyone that drilled it loved it.

My favorite urethane was the original Black Hammer, and my favorite resin was the 3D Blazing Violet. My sleeper that hasn't been mentioned here is the reactive Purple Pearl Nail...that ball was a perfect complement to my Blazing Violet when the lanes were medium/dry.

I was at a hammer challenge last saturday i tryed the Saw blade awesome ball by the way.I tryed the real deal 2 much hook for how i throw it.

Blades are cool. I picked up the Slingblade. It's perfecto for my relatively straight game. Carries down great with a slow arc at the back end and then just rips the deck. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

For those who drilled a 3-D Tour , you know it's ne of the best Hammer balls ever. This ball was the one that created the phase "long and strong"

I would without a doubt say that it would have to be the Blade Reactive. THe thing works magic on the lanes. I have never had a ball like this. Yea the BIG BLUE Pearl is good but it just doesnt have the same qualities that the Blade does.

1-Vicious, what else do I have to say. Been through hook again twice, resurfaced, still carry to bowling every night. Still used more than any other ball.

"The Deal" is the greatest hammer ball ever. I goes smooth through the front end, past everyone else's breakpoint, then snaps and hits the pocket like a truck. Best ball ever.

I would have to say the best ball ever is the 3-D high rev.I liked the ball so much i have two of them. I've had one for 7 years and the ball just wont stop working.It has been resurfaced twice and I still go back to that ball when i cant find a shot.I just bought the High Rev and this ball hooks a ton so maybe i can finially retire the old 3-D but time will tell . The high rev is supposed to be the same as the 3-D so i hope it does as well. i also own sling blade,and an old blue hammer. My son also throws hammers Sharp blade and old eurathane hammer. He is 14 and his high game is 275 with the old eurothane ball.

My favorite hammer ball would have to be the original 3d violet high rev 3d...i have three of them that i carry with me. One to go super long and flip, one to start up ealry, and one that is in between. The ball is amazing at any of these drillings and it carries EVERYTHING!!!

is for the Saw Blade. It is the first Hammer I shot 300 with. At the end of this year I got a Toxic. I'll need to use it in league this fall before I can form an opinion on it. But in practice, I like it.

Best Hammer Ball (only hammer ball) I had in 2005 was Vicious. Some purple ball that I was able to average 177 with after 20+ year layoff from bowling.

Unfortunately, the Vicious was the first ball to teach me the lesson that storing balls in the garage is a bad idea. Cracked.:( Still store balls in garage and lost another ball last week. Time to learn.

I think the best hammer was the Vicious Particle Pearl, never owned it but threw my buddeis allot and man did that ball hook! It sold me on hammer.

Although, this is a Faball, the 3-D Tour Offset, I have owned 4 of these balls, and each one was amazing. Altogether 9 300s came out of them.

As for the Current Hammer, the Blue Vibe is my favorite, it combines a very smooth arc, with good length and I am able to throw it on anything except extreme dry.

I like the original Blue hammer, the Black Widow, the Pearl Particle Vicious, and Purple Vibe.

I think I will have to go with the Sledge Hammer (not the blue syntactive!). I threw this ball a lot and would almost sell my soul for a 15lb undrilled. It was always easy to read and versatile. I could play straight up the 5th board or move into like 25 and send it. I always found ways to score with that ball.
