Well i got my widow in late october-early november. Ive given it a bath 2 times and it has well over 150 games on it. I always start off with it and it has not been reacting at all the way it was. I clean it with Ebonite Powerhouse Energizer Cleaner after everytime i bowl. So, is it time to get it resurfaced? I have been using my Absolute Inferno which has been doing good, but i prefer my Widow. Should i just stick with it and it will eventually get back? Or should i talk to my pro shop about getting it resurfaced.

Thanks!

Don't just wait, it won't miraculously comeback.. You need to get it fixed.. But, what exactly is the problem?? Have you lost boards on the hook?? Thats what I am figuring.. If you have lost a few boards, going down to 1000-Grit was a great move for me, it brought my Widow back to life again!!

Yea, when i get it out it just doesn't make its sharp return back to the pocket like it did. I'm working tonight, so ill talk to my proshop and see what he thinks.

I recommend 1000-Grit, worked great for me, tell me what you decide!!

Take it to get resurfaced.
Is your proshop in a alley? If so see if he will help you play around with the surface.

I went up yesterday and i said that over the past month or so it has not been reacting at all. I said that i do clean it after each session. Right away he said that he can put it in the oven. Now, i know what your all thinking...OVEN? There is a name for the machine he has, but i'm not sure. He said it will take out the oil and should be back to good. If it doesn't work then he would put it on the resurfacer and do whatever needs to be done. I'm picking it up today and then bowling with it so ill let u kno how it does:cool:

I soak mine every 25 games and out comes a ton of oil....

if you've only soaked twice in 150 games, there's gotta be a good half inch of oil in there (exaggerating slightly)

I never used the "oven" thing at the proshop before. My guru says is is really good. Isn't that the "resurfacer"?

Report back.

Yesterday before bowling I had my Black Widow cleaned with Black Magic Rejuvinator by the proshop. Then they wet polished and then abraloned to 2000 dull. The ball was very lively.

ITS BACK! Wow, that oven thing really did a good job. The proshop said it was in there for 2 hrs and it dripped a ton of oil I got it and it already felt OOB tacky. I put my Black Magic Rejuvenator on it and started up my league. I shot a 237 227 245 for a 709 series. I then rolled of for my saturday league a couple hrs later and i shot a 202 243 212 for a 657. Im loving my BW again!!

Glad it worked... I'm still out on those machines... long term damage. Do you know how hot they get?

I have no idea how hot they get.

I was really thinking of getting a new ball...but now that my BW is back, i can wait a bit longer now!

I am skeptical about this, but at least Brunswick is testing ovens and their reactions to coverstocks...
