A lot of the better bowlers that I see don't have finger inserts, but many of them have thumb slugs.

Is there any advantage to not use rubber finger inserts or to go to the trouble of having finger slugs put in instead?

Just wondering. It would be cheaper to not have the rubber inserts.

Another question... Is it legal to have your finger holes beveled under for more grip?

Well..the whole thing about no finger grips, is that you get more grip sometimes, rather ironically.

It makes sure you dont jam your fingers in, and the slug just lets your thumb slide off and your fingers push through. Also, the no grips allows you to not void the factory warranty.

Cool, thanks.

Next question is has anyone switched from inserts to no inserts and had it help your game?

It seems that most people when starting out throwing a fingertip grip almost invariably get inserts. It seems that only the players who advance a lot tend to get rid of using them.

Good questions! I myself have been wondering if finger and thumb inserts are worth it. I have never bowled with them except when I got to test drive a widow.

With the test drive, I bowled a heck od alot better, but the holes were not an exact fit and my fingers stuck quite a bit.
