Okay, I have another thread out there Click here (http://forums.hammerbowling.com/showthread.php?p=17230#post17230), and this got me to thinking. How many people use different balls for different conditions. (Not counting spare balls)

It's just like golf with rounder clubs. Well not really...

I try and pick the one of my three strike balls that will be the most versatile on the shot and try playing out most of it's line before switching.

Most competitive bowlers have several balls for various conditions. If I am in a league or tourney, and one ball is hitting particularly well, I wont change equipment. I will just adapt the line or rotation, speed or angle.

A good way for bowlers to get use to that is to learn to play 3 different lines with one ball, play the ditch for a few games, then move left, and arc the ball, then deep inside and play fifth arrow

Then switch balls and repeat :D

The first ball out of my bag is my BW. If that doesn't work, I try my Doom. If that doesn't work, I try my Action. And if that doesn't work, I try my Faball. But mainly, I just try to move around with my Black Widow.

I tried to limit myself to five balls (not including spare ball) and use layouts and surfaces that match up with my game and a variety of lane conditions.

XXXcell
Smash Time pearl
No Limit
V2 Power
Purple Vibe

Soon to trade No Limit for BW pearl

Yep, in fact I have too many balls right now. I went a little crazy last month. But there are worst problems in the world. :)

Here's my current line up

Heavy stuff
WMB @ 360 and NM @OOB

I'm happy with these two. The WMB handles more oil and is smoother off the dry. The NM is stronger in the mid lane and more "flip-ish" than the WMB. I might try the NM @ 2000.

Medium-Heavy
AR1-control drill @ 800+light polish
AR2-asy flip drill @ OOB which is about 2000
BW- strong drill @4000

This is where things are confusing. My BW and the flip drill Revs are some what similar. Both go long and cover a similar about of boards. The carry is also about the same.

I think the key differences here are shape and carrydown. The Revs turns harder at the break, which makes sense since my BW doesn't have the skid/snap drill. Also at the box finishes the Revs as a particle pearl be better on messy backends.

My other Revs is kind of lost right now. I'm not exactly sure where it fits it. It hooks as much as the AR2 and BW but it's earlier with more of a midlane read. I'm going to play around with the cover until it forms a nice bridge between the heavy and medium heavy stuff. There have been some good articles in Bowling This Month about arsenals so I have plenty of ideas to try.

Medium-Light
Toxic - I have no idea where this balls cover is. My last experiment was 360+rough buff then light hit with a 2000 pad.

Blue Vibe - 4000+ highly polished

oh please, that's nothing, too many balls would be what I face every time I go to fill my roller and two double balls bags.

Hawg Zilla
Road Hawg
Big Deal
Hawg Wild
Turbo Diesel
Ultra Mega X
Black Widow
Total NV
Tomb Raider
Big Rig Diesel
Sling Blade
Vibe

now my friend THAT is too many balls. I don't hardly miss the Sharp Blade or the polished Turbo Diesel that have cracked on me in the last few months.

I can't wait for the Black Widow Pearl and the new Vibe (if my sources are correct)

I am like a chick that collects shoes, it is embarassing.

Well, considering this is my second year bowling, i have a pretty good arsenal. Can any of u please recommend anything that i could change in my arsenal, like surface, i can't get a new ball, i know it's mostly not hammer but. All i have to do is get my release down and i will be averaging 200. I keep topping the ball.

i noticed you have a huge gap in your arsenal

Scorchin Inferno and Paradigm passion, they both match each other, and then it drops down to a 3d offset, which i take it is a dry lane ball?

a basic arsenal should consist on this

Sanded Ball-Heavy Lanes (example scorchin inferno, no mercy, paradigm passion)
Particle Peal or Pearl-Meduim Lanes(toxic, big time pearl, fired up)
Entry Level Reactive-dry(vibe, torando, power groove)
spare ball

they are plently of other balls to choose from, they just popped up in my head at the time

now what i can see you dont have a meduim oil ball unless the scorchin or the passion is polished?

anybody else agree??

When I started bowling again in the fall last year, I only had two balls. One was a Pink 3-D Axis Super Hook and an old burgundy Columbia 300 Urethane ball that I used for spares.

Since then, I have bought a PAIN, MAXIM for spares, TOXIC, Blue VIBE and an Epic Battle.

I only have room in my locker at the bowling alley for two balls and my stuff. So, I always bring 2-3 other balls to the alley with me.

I'm starting to become a ball hog and I need a recommendation on a good ball carrier.

What do you guys suggest? I've been looking at the Hammer 4 ball inline, but I've heard that inline rollers aren't the most convenient.

I'm also considering some of the KR stackable types.

Ok, thanks street racer. I just wanted to see if i could do anything to make my arsenal better. The 3-d offset is a 3-d offset super flip.

I think the inline bags are a really good idea. I do need to get a 4 bag ball or buy a joey.

I use the ebonite wooden rack which holds a dozen balls and keep the rest of them in hammer 2 ball bags on the floor of my den.

I just started bowling in Feb'06.....

I have a stackable four ball from KR and it's pretty nice. Add a joey and it's pretty easy to carry 5 balls.

My next bag purchase will be a VISE three ball roller. One of the tournament style bags that hold balls only. Between that and my KR I should be all set.
