Yeap.A fight almost broke out at my house with a group of youngsters. This kid,abt 20yrs old,was lofting the house ball abt 2 meters off the ground, throw after throw.I'm not sure if hes trying to make a few girls in his group laugh but its kinda irritating when the ball lands abt 2 meters away with a super loud 'BOOM'.He was 2 lanes away and I could see a few other bowlers getting irritated as well.
My bro had enough when he was abt to do his run up when the guy lofted a super high ball(abt 2.5m)and it hits next lane and eventually landed on our lane!!!He immediate put the ball down and went over to his lane and confronted him.Seeing my bro closing in on him,he immediately shouted,'My finger got f****** stuck in the hole! You got any problem with that?'.My bro advised him to get a houseball with a bigger thumbhole but he refused.Thats when the kid's friends tried to gang up on my bro.To impress the girls I guess.Me and my other bro immediately went over and a minor scuffle broke out..Thats when the cashier suddenly appeared and all of us were given a warning, although i feel we weren't in the wrong.
We cont our game but it was very tense. This time the kid was throwing gently but mayhem was abt to unfold on our lane.I shot the gutter twice and a score off 116!!!!We went back after only 3 games.

Why didn't the house do something about this before the guy tossed a ball on your lane? That is messed up.
As soon as the guy was tossing the ball at the ceilling the house should have turned those lanes off and kicked them out.

I know how you feel. One day at my house some guys were lofting the ball 3 meters (i bowling in a 12 foot high house), and about 50 feet down the lane, so the ball would almost hit the backdrop.

That sucks, you should've just told the workers. That way you could laugh at them when they were getting kicked out.

I too have no idea why the personnels didnt do anything abt it.It went on for about 20 long minutes before everything broke out.The first time he did it,I find it quite amusing but after his 3rd of 4th shot,I started to get distracted and annoyed. So too are my brothers. And I find he's doing it on purpose as he would laugh his @ss off after that.My house was packed as its the weekend and maybe the staffs were too busy to notice.
A few bowlers in the other lanes often glanced over to us and gave a wry smile and a shake of the head...Hope I dont run into thse jerks again:mad:

We've got a guy in our league that throws a back up ball about 10 feet down the lane before it smashes down making the loud boom like you describe. I hate the guy his name fits him quite well.... Jimmy Cox.:D
But, if someone threw a ball like that and it ended up on my lane, they would soon figure out that they don't call me Stabby Brad for nothin'. :D

Good one Brad! Unfortunately violence never really solves any thing. We're lucky because our house really cares about their lanes and would bounce any one lobbing like that denting the lanes!
Another reason why I don't practice on weekends...

Yeah, my alley cares about that. One thing that happens alot is people bowling on a lane that's shut off. Then they complain because they get charged for that. We only have 16 lanes, wood lanes. Don't take your 40 synthetic lanes for granted :D

LOL.I've seen quite a few complaining because of that. Now my house hangs a gigantic msg at the door 'NO PRACTICE SHOTS ALLOWED.ALL PRACTICE SHOTS ON SHUT
OFF LANE WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY':D ....Oh yeah..FYI,i prefer wooden lanes than synthetic ones. For some strange reason,I get better strike percentage on it.Its funny how since I started bowling few months ago,I came across many types of human beings.Strangers next lane with generous amt of advice, and also jerks who doesnt know common lane ettiquettes(spelling):o

Annoys me as well. What winds me up even more though are league bowlers who do nothing except complain about the lane conditions and end up throwing their ball halfway down the lane and denting it as if to prove a point.
These tossers will blame everything for their piss-poor shots except themselves and I've noticed they will invariably be the first to complain about the lane conditions, happily ignoring the fact that they damage them by their shows of poor sportsmanship.

I love bowling against people who complain about the lane conditions. Like your not bowling on it as well. But when you strike its all luck when they miss it's the lanes...

I was like that one day, The normal pattern is med. oil in the middle and heavy in the outsides. They oiled the lanes wrong and it was really oily in the middle and if you leaked it to where the heavy should be, your ball just rolled out. The kid next to me struck a few times in the beginning because he was throwing a shock and awe, i was throwing a paradigm passion.
