I'm not one for talking about scores, everyone has their own standards and right fully so. This set, I feel like talking about. I actually cleaned my Toxic the day before, noticed the ball was not finishing as hard as it was before, so I put it thru a quick cleaning, a little Ultimate Black Magic cleaner. Showed up at the alley for normal 15 mins of warm up and noticed the difference right away, carry was much better (10pins anyway)...So, to make a long story short 257, 258, 300 for 815 set...actually a pin off the house record. Not a bad night to say the least. By the way a BW was thrown on same lanes for 258-258-277 for 793. Lucky for us we both were on the same team. Unique thing was no one else in house broke 620 with most sets being in the mid 5's. Now this house has about 15 bowlers over 200 avg, no one over 215, but still enough people that good sets are thrown often. The ultimate reward was also given...there were 9, yes 9 Toxics ordered after I threw that set. So the Toxic has proven its self to be a good match for our lane conditions......another awesome ball by Hammer.

Congrats on the awesome bowling!
I agree that the Toxic is a little underrated. My high series of 798 was with Toxic too.

Great bowling Tunat!
You are too modest and should share your scores more often it's encouraging for other hammer heads. And as far as hammer heads go you are now a profit generating 9 (possibly) new hammer heads in one spectacular series is freaking amazing!

Lanes we shoot on are Medium oil with stripped backends...Forgot the brand of oil they are now using but it is light in nature, thus it carries down quickly. The shot starts to change after about 3-4 frames forcing you to adjust a little as you go. Not a difficult shot to get to the head pin, its carrying the corners that hurts. Its the small adjustments that count the most...most of us throw down and in with a 3-5 board swing of the ball, the strokers have pretty much adjusted their game to be similar to us (high end stoker/low-end tweener style)...hope this helps.

Yes it does.... I've been going back and forth looking for a medium oil ball as the conditions I bowl on causes me to make huge adjustments with my Widow about a game or so into league....

Does the toxic soak up a lot of oil. As much as the BW.

Others that own Toxic's can also step in here, but in my case not nearly as much. I do wipe the ball off just before each frame as part of my routine, but to be honest with you the Toxic is a different ball with different cover stock, the BW (even though) its 2000 grit seems to hold on to oil while the Toxic is more of a "pearlized" (I use that term as a general term) surface thus oil doesn't as readily soak into the cover. Hope this helps

We need more information re: the Toxic and soaking oil. I have a video that came with my used Total NV. It shows a demonstration of the guy on the video wiping some fresh lane oil/conditioner on the Total NV with his finger. In about three seconds the oil disappears. Since the coverstock of the Total NV and Toxic are related (per Can-Ham's conjecture) I wonder if the Toxic soaks up the oil too?
I have no answer, since I too just wipe the ball between shots and Track Clean n' Dull the ball after ecvery couple of uses. NE1:confused:

Just had my TOXIC a week, love it. Got a Real Deal, just got it resurfaced.
Once used it to shoot a 211,211,223(with 8 opens, strike or split). The Toxic seems to be the best medium oil ball I have seen for years. My first high dollar ball was in the late 80's, a pearl blue hammer. Once I learn to keep the toxic under control I see some good scores in my future. 1st night 10 minutes after drilling, 172,227,199. Only 6 frames that weren't 9 or strike,4 of those were where I tugged it and got a split.

Ok, thanks guys. Maybe the pearl makes it soak up less oil. Do you guys know if you polish a ball that was originally dull, does it soak up as much oil as it originally did.

What's the layout on your toxic?

Erocku...whom were you asking??? mine without going into alot of details is pin just under ring finger due to short pin (1-11/4in pin was shipped). I'd go into the pap and more info if needed...but everyone is different. Ball drilled to go long and finish strong, don't have Hammer's web site up to tell you which drilling it was...typically with normal pin (2-3 in) its pin over the ring finger...is this what you were looking for
